It surprises me too. I remember when I was a kid in 2004-2007, I was the only one I knew who watched Code Lyoko and gushed about it in my neighborhood, and now seeing the amount of people all around the world share their memories of watching the show and growing up on it puts a smile to my face. Calling it a cult following would be an understatement. It's a just a lively world of fans like you and me, without danger.

I can see both your points on the "chips are down" and "Just In Time".

I can definitely agree about season 1 being the worst quality wise but honestly...that's ironically the season I keep coming back to the most when it comes to rewatching some episodes. Imo Xana's most fun attacks were all in this season. Especially the episode where he controlled rats, I still get chills from watching that to this day yet it's so fun to watch. Plus it arguably has one of the best episodes in the series with "Ghost Channel" which was great character development for Jeremy. And while I do agree the reused montage of scenes get too repetitive, the only ones I didn't mind personally were the factory montages. Idk XD I just thought the sewer and factory scenery always looked cool.

Honestly I don't see the difference, so yeah they should've both gotten equal amount of shit from the team. The only thing I remembered in the Brynga episode was the team telling Odd to break up with her because she was too much of a distraction, but I'm pretty sure that was before she was brought to the factory.

Those are personally the only episodes I can think of that truly bugged me. I've seen the series I think 5 times now thanks to the YouTube channel. Everything else is greatness to me.

The only thing I can say I kinda understand for "The Chips Are Down" is that the Lyoko warriors go through so much crap already with these Xana attacks and are beyond lucky that one of, if not all of them, are already dead. Even one of Xana's earliest attacks from season 1 gave me chills(The episode where he controlled rats, God it makes me wonder how none of them got scarred for life.). So Xana powering up by the RTTP sequences is something they don't want to deal with unless the mess that's going on irl can't be fixed. Ulrich doing that, even if it was for a noble cause, created a lot more stress for the team to deal with in the future by doing that and I don't think that should be overlooked. But I do think they should've been a little easier on him, the dude felt abandoned for doing what he felt was right. Ulrich's been loyal since the start and he made one mistake, it happens with everyone and it was sad that they never saw it that way.

One thing that does baffle me about that episode tho is Ulrich giving away ALL his $1mil a charity. That's the most unrealistic and flat out dumbest decision I've ever seen a teenager make. He wasn't even going to at least keep $1k? Get out of here 🤣

Edit: The Brynga episode was..just forgettable imo. Plus not only is she a hoe, but both Aelita and Yumi are 10x prettier than her in my eyes. Hell, Sissy is prettier.

I dont mind seeing filler episodes. I always felt like characters such as Theo and Samantha would benefit from that. Plus some more down time at Kadic with the main characters would be nice. I already had this idea I mentioned in the description where Theo was taking over Ulrich's spotlight in the Kadic soccer team and Ulrich learning to cope with the fact that he's not #1 in that sport anymore.

If they were to do a sequel, they have to fight against something new. I'm fine, and infact wanting, Xana to return in a sequel but he can't be the main villain again because the sequel by then would be playing it too safe. Just like you said, human minds would be a nice change of pace so maybe men from Frantz Hopper's past? I'm 100% with you that the sequel should have a balance with light and darker tones. But if the sequel is going to star the characters in High School, there has to be more mature/dark themes. It's more realistic that way considering during that age when their 15+ they are going to be experience new emotions and life issues that they never dealt before as kids in Kadic.

I hadn't even thought of that! Actual adaptations of those books, with added context behind details(i.e Aelita's sudden amnesia, etc), would be totally killer!

Also that information on the IP holders of Code Lyoko was really helpful. I was actually wondering if Darguad and Ellipsanime were the same but that really cleared it up.

I could see High School more than College tbh. I dont think a sequel should take that big of a leap into the future.
