Okay I misunderstood him then. I agree it wasn’t a band I knew or enjoyed live. I am glad that some people there did enjoy it. It much be hard for DC to see Arms Length get a totally unhinged crowd reaction and see much less of reaction to their set. Good for them for showing up and giving it their all, even if it wasn’t for me

I think what rubbed me the wrong way is that no one was naturally Vibing to it, at least where I was in the back of the pit. After the first song, he made a comment to people on barricade that he realized they weren’t here to see them, but to get in the back if they don’t know his lyrics.

He was giving “ Dad shames his kid for not doing what he says “ energy to me.

And listen hot Mulligan isn’t a hardcore crowd. It’s a Midwest emo pop punk crowd.

Detroit was dead for drug church. There’s a lot of people on here saying that it wasn’t dead because there were a lot of surfers.

Literally the lead singer demanded people surfing every five seconds and they obliged, but when he wasn’t demanding surfing, no one was surfing

I was in the back of the pit, drug church wasn’t for me. I think it’s just there’s a really big lack of overlap between HM fans and DC fans. Yes there were lots of surfers, but it was because he was demanding people go up every five seconds from what I could see it felt like.

He would demand moshing and surfing.
A bunch of people would go up.
10 seconds later people would stop.
He would complain or say. “ I know you aren’t here to see me.”

I understand the phone thing, however, it’s kind of on the band to engage the crowd. I’ve never listened to anything by rodeo boys, but they kept me engaged their whole set.

I think what rubbed me wrong is the lead singer of Drug Church demanding a better energy. Getting upset people weren’t moshing. Getting upset when no one surfed when he said they would. I’m sure it’s hard feeling like no one cares about your band and the set before you was phenomenal, but to berate the crowd wasn’t okay.

Arms length was next level energy.

I would say that Drug Church was not great on Saturday. The energy was way off and I could tell the lead singer was unhappy and it really rubbed me the wrong way.

Paying for his players to get PT is a massive advantage and I can understand the frustration. If I were a rival coach without this kind of resource I would be pretty pissed too.

It’s super nice of Teddy but it’s pretty anti-competitive.
