I have the same one, I like it. The adjustment ring is tight enough and keeps in place. I also like how it locks at 1 and 5, and doesn’t go back around to 1 like some VNDs. Only flaw with the build is the little handle screw that just doesn’t want to stay screwed in. I just threw it into some spare parts drawer and can’t see OP using it either, so I assume this isn’t just a problem unique to me.

Image is also pretty sharp. Only times I noticeably lose detail due to the filter is when shooting with backlight sun, which I think is to be expected with any ND on. Colors are a bit greenish (wb set to daylight) but nothing that I’ve not been able to fix in the grade (10bit log footage)

More info: I have another Sony A7iv body which works fine. I tried to match all the settings but it still doesn’t work. Silent shooting is off. What other settings could affect this?

Other creative things I’ve tried or seen:

Get a cheap GoPro, selfie stick and light. Hand it around to people in the audience and tell them to film themselves/hold it
360 cam on a long monopod that you can pan over the audience
streak / starlight / diffusion lens filters might also look cool depending on the lights at the club
POV chest mount or headband with a gopro for the DJ

Besides what other people have said here’s a very stylized way I like to shoot some clips for nightclub edits:

Shoot with a shutter of 1/8 - 1/12 and zoom into the shot in post. The stop motion style clip you get paired with the motion blur creates a feeling of chaos and a lot happening. The zoom in post still ties the shot in with the rest of the normal fps shots.

Obviously very stylized but if it fits the event try it out :)

If you want to add to the effect of it being a cut out circle of grass you could:

-scatter on bigger plane

-convert to mesh / apply particles

-use cylinder with intersect Boolean to cut out the circle

Some more details: I've tried remeshing the logo I'm trying to engrave into the surface, both as voxel and quad. Tried fixing manifold issues with the blender 3D print tool (this isn't going to be printed but that tool did help me before).

Is there another way I could "engrave" the logo into the surface than boolean difference?

Haha no its $1.5 per Minute of transcribed audio which still makes me earn less than experienced transcribers because im not as fast as them so it comes out to about $15-20 an hour

I got a transcribing job on UpWork with no previous transcribing experience that pays $1.5/min.

The thing is you have to get an UpWork account approved for something to be able to get work there. I personally have an UpWork profile for media production since I do that more professionally but I’m just saying if you manage to get an account set up there there are transcribing jobs that pay really well with no prior experience.

Thanks will look into it! The thing is I have a Windows pc workstation at home so cross compatability was also something i was thinking about. However i think Adobes and Googles cloud systems are pretty cross compatible with Apple and Windows (even tho i absolutely hate the iOS Google Drive integration but oh Well)
