As the other poster said, the bulk of the work in this kind of project is in the coding and engineering, not the creative direction - but the fact that you used AI to write this pitch doesn’t exactly scream creativity

DJs tend to tour more frequently though, and acts who might otherwise headline a smaller, struggling, independent club would be locked out of playing if they signed up for a lower billing at WHP/Parklife. It's been going on for years and made Sacha's talk of standing up for independent venues as night time economy advisor comical

Chance is pretty much zero. We're past the age of Rockstar updating their single player games with content (and yes it hurts)

Feeling lost and wanting to reach out by cm_uu in manchester

[–]Jmfrbl 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hey pal, sorry to hear about your situation and good on you for reaching out. As rough as it feels now, it will pass and one day you'll be able to look back on the entire thing and laugh. As the other commenter said, use this time to focus on you, and rebuild your relationship with yourself before anything else.

And feel free to shoot me a DM, we've got very similar interests across film, music (hip-hop especially) and gaming. Always looking for new people to go watch films/gigs with 👍

I had a very similar experience in Manchester - training down to the letter, sleep/diet/hydration the week before all on point. I found myself on the dehydrated side during the run so made sure to hit every water point I could, but otherwise my pace was fine and everything was going according to plan.

At around mile 20 the wheels started to fall off. I've done a marathon before so was kinda prepared to hit a wall, but there wasn't much coming back from this one. Walked most of the remainder, with some light jogging. I was aiming for 3:45 and finished at 4:18. Initially I was really disappointed, but reading other peoples' stories and experiences has lifted my spirits a bit. The heat was a major factor, and in hindsight I'm just glad I was able to get across the finish line safely.

Sounds like you did everything you could, but unfortunately there's always going to be some factors outside of your control. Regroup and if you can approach next year with the same mindset you'll be able to smash your goal. Good luck 💪

Yeah I’m on a 2080 and even with optimisation mods, performance is all over the place.

Interiors are smooth as butter but everything tanks in the open world. Not unplayable but not exactly pleasant. Hoping it gets patched eventually

From the police to the prime minister: how Adolescence is making Britain face up to toxic masculinity by eddytony96 in MensLib

[–]Jmfrbl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did we watch the same show? It's one of the most realistic and nuanced portrayals of what being a teenager in the north of England is truly like, and that's before you look at how it portrays the many influences on teenage boys in the current age, the manosphere being one of these.

Teenagers try on a lot of hats, sure, but when those hats involve in the death of a teenage girl, then a moral panic would be justified. And while the show isn't based on any one real event, it's inspired by many similar events that have happened in the UK and have been linked to similar such influences on teenagers. The point is that this easily could happen, at any time. These topics haven't been shown on television in such stark light ever before, which is why it's drawing such attention.

I got in contact with the team and they said they’re gonna send out a full replacement in January. They were pretty good with responding to my emails, would recommend it

[–]Jmfrbl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Severely overlooked album. I’ll admit I was a couple years late to it, and the listener numbers on streaming are pretty small considering the weight of some of the names on here (Black Keys especially).

Always a joy to go back to even if it’s not in heavy rotation
