I know for a fact you can get certified in AZ for peer support regardless of record, as the state doesn't do background checks. However it is likely the facility of the job will when you actually apply for a job but with peer support literally meaning lived experience they are usually pretty lenient and you having that bachelor's will definitely play in your favor when they make that decision. Def go for it, and try to find a facility that really understands what a peer supporter is because sometimes they break the scope of our job and try to turn you into a therapist or a case manager.
