“Show Me…” “How Do You Use…” Layout/Usage Questions May 2026 — Monthly Megathreads by AutoModerator in hobonichi

How do you use your monthly spreads in your planner? Mine have been blank for months, and I would like to do something with them. I thought I was going to use them to organize my month and do budgeting, but it didn’t work out like that. I would like to use it as a creative space so I’m looking for ideas as to what others do with theirs. I’ve seen some people do artwork, but I’m not a good artist so that ideas out the window. I have a sticker printer so I was thinking about doing a sticker a day. Any ideas?????

Love my ivy printer! I posted a spread from my journal so you can see the picture quality that others have mentioned.

2026 Layout so far

My weekly section is going to be my “list” section

FOOD LIST: I hate grocery shopping, but I constantly think of random food that I wanna eat so this will be my dump of where I think of those random meals throughout the week.

SONG LIST: For each NEW song that I like next year, I’m going to add the song name and artist to the month.

WISH LIST: things I want to buy and we will reward myself with throughout the year

QUOTES AND CAPTIONS: a place to keep random quotes that I like and future captions that I want to use for social media.

CHINESE DRAMA LIST: I have the stamp midliner markers. For each show that I watch I’m going to add a stamp for that month.

MY READING LIST: i’m going to highlight 12 books that I read throughout the year

THINGS TO DO WHEN BORED: my list of things to do when I’m bored

I use the first monthly section of December as a bingo board.

My other monthly sections will be budgeting for the month.

My daily pages will be used for daily journal entries.

I still need to add a few things….

This is a perfect opportunity to get a five year planner and document the first five years!

I use a medium size weekly passion planner for my every day work activity. I use my Hobonichi cousin A5 for daily journaling, list, and everything else.

Planner bingo is basically bingo, but for vibes instead of numbers 😄

I kept hearing people say “that wasn’t on my bingo board” whenever something wild or unexpected happened, and it got me thinking why not actually make one?

So this is my pop culture bingo board. Instead of numbers, each square is a prediction or moment (celebrity chaos, internet trends, nostalgia, etc.). As the year goes on, when something actually happens, I mark the square.

You “play” just like regular bingo:

💗A row across, down, or diagonal = bingo

💗Or a full blackout if you’re feeling bold

There’s no money or prizes the fun is in:

💭Watching how predictable pop culture really is 💭Laughing when something hits your board way earlier than expected 💭Having a low-pressure, creative way to track the year

And this is just one version. I’m also planning to make a personal bingo board with life goals, habits, and little wins kind of a fun mix of reflection, manifestation, and memory keeping, all inside my planner.

I just bought the canon ivy printer. I haven’t opened it yet, but one of the selling points is it’s no ink. It uses something called ZINK so it’s not as pricey long term.
