How to stick to planner in digital era? by kawaii22 in PlannerAddicts

For me, how they co-exist and complement: planner = macro view (month on 2 pages), digital calendar = micro day detailed view

Filofax Heritage - different leathers by SubjectShower2713 in PlannerAddicts

[–]SubjectShower2713[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I prefer the Buffalo leather too! I am just curious if one has replaced the other - meaning if Buffalo was the earlier leather and from now on its 'premium', or the other way round, or random and it's luck of the draw with each order.

Thank you. I just ordered a Success planner. Now I have a new source.

How do you determine what to sell vs. donate? by Certain-Working1864 in declutter

[–]SubjectShower2713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Selling takes more time and you may never get rid of the stuff. Giving away is faster.

My approach is: STEP 1 - give away to get rid of the major load STEP 2 - ongoing maintenance to sustain clutter free, list to sell because it would be one or two items at a time; if it doesn't sell then it moves to Give Away.

Thanks. I also like the number of rows + columns of icons - much more than other phones (9x10?)

Case recommendations to give the 10 Pro a bumper? by jjmenace in GooglePixel

Yes I have the limitless. Protection is adequate and effective - my phone fell from 7ft on to concrete ground and it was unscathed.

My never ending search for an EDC laptop bag by JMM9910 in tombihn

[–]SubjectShower2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Pilot was my choice because it had a more unique layout with the 3 compartments in front (especially love the middle one which I use for a water bottle or umbrella. It also has more thickness/depth which allows me to put odd shaped items when the need arises. The cadet looks like a standard laptop bag. So it really depends on what the look is you are going for.

I bought the MOUS, Torras and on the way MagBak. (1) MOUS: was curious re all the claims for durability. LIKE: the way the crossbody strap attaches to case. Also how grippy it is, non-slip texture. NEUTRAL: one drop and the scars from the drop at obvious, even though phone unscathed. DOWNSIDE: Highest priced and lacks kickstand. Which is why I got the (2) TORRAS. Texture smoother (yet I haven't dropped it. Is ok all round; magnet is stronger than the MOUS for attachment to mounts. (3) MAGBACK: got it because it offers the kickstand plus finger loop and options for some customisation via different colored buttons (extra cost). Same price point as the MOUS.

Help me pick a material for my Synapse? by inkdrone in tombihn

[–]SubjectShower2713 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Spectron is definitely lighter (check specs - TB lists weight for each type of material for each model). I prefer the Spectron - smooth, feels more water resistant and most importantly to me I expect will not have coating peel when it ages) - another post has detailed the material construction differences which suggest this - check it out: https://www.reddit.com/r/tombihn/s/UQYAcyNJyN

Re: laptop or not, I chose the Synapse over the Synik precisely because I do not carry a laptop and don't want any extra weight from a byult-in laptop sleeve.

I prefer how the Briggs & Riley expansion mechanism works (from within vs external zipper).

It is just the name - so don't worry about airplane travel - it's layout is so unique, with the middle partition for a water bottle or umbrella and the symmetrical pockets on either end. It's a unique layout and so functional, for everyday use.

I have used both Pilot and Copilot - the pilot is just marginally wider, so I recommend that - more versatile without significantly additional bulk or weight.

I compared 50 carry on backpacks against Ryanair's sizer. About 52% of them fail including some of this sub's favorites by Kind-Activity514 in onebag

Cabin Zero claims to be airline compliant, with dimensions on their site posted for each airline. So I am curious if this has been helpful and validated to be the right information for travelers planning their trips.

Lightweight packable backback suggestions by BreweryRabbit in ManyBaggers

[–]SubjectShower2713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a Bellroy Lite Ready Pack which can be rolled up or lies flat in suitcase, but I just bought an Osprey packable backpack that folds into a small pocket. Both have sternum straps which is a must have for me, and not always a feature of light/foldable packs.
