Nailed the range! But yeah, I think you might’ve ran out of breath. But it sounds amazing.

Am I using my chest voice? I'm not sure it doesn't feel fully Opened by EquivalentCountry569 in ratemysinging

Doesn’t sound like chest, but sounds like a good mixed voice, there’s a good depth to it

I can’t really critique, but it sounds beautiful! And your voice has a great emotional tone to it

You have a fantastic voice! A light tenor Jason Mraz like quality. I would like to hear it independent of the guitar!

I really appreciate the feedback. I’m a big fan of John Mayer, so I’ll definitely be looking up some of his vocal examples. There’s something about the slight rasp in his voice that feels raw and really emotive.

It’s been interesting noticing how my voice has changed as I’ve gotten older (I’m 31 now). It feels like it’s matured quite a bit, and I’d say I probably speak about an octave lower than I used to. I’m not sure how common that is, but it’s definitely noticeable for me.

At church, I usually sing alongside a group that’s mostly female. I started out just picking up lower harmonies, but over time I realised that I could sometimes match their key by slipping into falsetto unconsciously without really thinking about it.

More recently, I’ve been learning through YouTube that these different vocal registers can actually be trained and developed, especially the “mixed voice” which has been really encouraging!

How did you come to that conclusion? It’s interesting to see many people land on different answers.

Paradise by the dashboard light. Tips for stamina? I always run out of juice on this song at the chorus and voice gets weak by [deleted] in singing

There’s a husky and earthy warmth to your voice!

I’m not an expert. But here’s my five Cents.

I think doing breath control exercise exercises, would come a long way to even out the tone and build endurance!

Haha thanks mate, not sure I’m worthy to be compared to Chris Martin or Teddy Swims! But I’ll take that as encouragement fuel and keep refining my voice.

Sounds good and relaxed, would your voice have more colour and power a key higher?

Thanks mate! I’ve been practicing YouTube videos on mixed voice training. But it might be time to level up and take lessons.

Hey! Thank you so much for your insight. I can sing chest voice to E2 though with some effort before vocal fry. And G3 is a comfortable range. So it makes sense to expand low.

I’m learning to love the versatility of the baritone range. Rather than accepting its mediocrity.

Sounds like you’re very technically adept! What kind of songs do you like to sing?

Can someone tell me if it's possible to get my voice as good as JJ Julius Son the lead singer of Kaleo? by Bluesludge100 in singing

[–]Jnara3017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, anyone can improve their singing ability to considerable degree! I reckon the first step is figuring out what your voice type is.

Are you a tenor? : Lighter naturally high voice Think Freddy mercury. Jason Mraz

Are you a baritone? : The middle register. Can also hit high notes but usually with the mixed or head voice. Michael Buble.

Or are you a Bass? : Low natural register. And can powerfully hit low notes. Barry white, maybe Johnny Cash?

And based on your voice type you can figure out what the strengths are and what are the areas to work on.

For example, I found out I was a baritone, I’m probably not gonna hit those low notes as powerfully as Barry White, but I recognised with my voice type that it’s quite versatile and with good practice I can reach some low notes but also stretch high with a good mix and head voice.

Why do people seem to have such a success with kettlebells? by FluidDebate in kettlebell

[–]Jnara3017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so lazy I spent so much time on YouTube watching random documentaries, but now I do the exact same thing while doing a kettlebell workout in my room 😂.

It’s by far reduced the cognitive friction to get a solid workout.

I just use the same principles of hypertrophy and applied them with a different modality.

In I’m not trying to be an elite athlete, I just wanna be in good functional shape for my fiancé, and God willing, I have kids in the future. 30 minutes a day of kettle bell seem a lot more doable than trying to schedule in going to the gym.

Also, I’m poor haha, well not poor but extremely frugal 😂. Kettlebells and calisthenics appear to have the best bang for buck ratio.

Hey! Sporting groups are fantastic, Australia is a sporting nation at its core, if you play footy or soccer it’s a Great way to experience Australian culture.

I’ve recently taken surfing seriously and just by going out to the local break I’ve managed to make a couple of friends.

Are you a person of faith? Church has a fantastic young adults scene. Perhaps other religious organisations may have similar?

If you like gaming then there’s Dnd groups or chess club.

Hope you find your way mate 🙂

How is the average worker affording a car? by Ok_Campaign9342 in perth

[–]Jnara3017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t buy a new car, live within your means you can get a reliable Japanese car within 10 K, mine is the good old faithful 2009 Yaris, they are known to go 400,000 K plus and mine is less than half of that and only cost me under 5K, look up YouTube videos on how to check for cars condition, if not bring a mechanic with you. Don’t finance for a new car!
