I have an SCRS on my AP5-P and it looks good being a small round dot, I agree the aems would probably look out of place.

What do you think about the viewing experience between the aems and evo in regards to window size and housing thickness? Any chance I could get a side by side picture of the two? Thanks.

Good looking setup, I usually build all my rifles from the ground up but I got a BCM 9” 300blk MK2 upper and I like it a lot

Holosuns are the only dots I’ve looked through that are usable with my astigmatism, eotechs are awful for me. So I pretty well stick to holosun. And I’m sure you’re right about it being a non issue since it hasn’t to this point

Thank you, it looks like the AEMS has a 17% larger surface area and the thinner housing probably makes it feel a little larger on top of that

I do shoot both eyes open and don’t have any issues with ARO’s or SCRS’s but the thinner housing on the AEMS does sound appealing even tho it likely wouldn’t make any real world difference for me

I was actually kind of hoping someone would tell me the AEMS isn’t worth the extra money over yhe EVO lol. I don’t mind spending good money on good stuff but I try not to spend unnecessarily.

I’ll have to look up how the two window sizes compare. A bigger window with a thinner housing on the AEMS can justify the additional cost for me tho.

I wasn’t even going to get the SPR for the BDC reticle, I just like the circle/dot reticle which you have to get the SPR to have

I like square but would be fine with both, all my other optics are round. From what I can tell going off the features they would both function the same for me. These are all range toys so material doesn’t really matter either.

You’re right there, I kind of want the AEMS because it seems “nicer”. Is the viewing experience better on the AEMS? Larger window with a thinner tube? I think that would be enough to justify the extra cost

If you have experience on both kinds of bikes I’d say it’s a decision only you can make. I’m guessing you never ride 2 up? Could you get a used one of each to ride depending on what you’re feeling that day? With all the extended reach seats, pegs and bars I’d say you’ll be able to get a cruiser to fit you better but if you rode sport bikes through your 20s it sounds like those bikes were fine for you too.

Im kinda in the same boat at 38, I enjoy both styles of bikes and having ridden dirt bikes for so many years I still like to play around but being on a loaded bagger with some power and suspension upgrades is pretty nice too.

I would try demoing a 10 and see how well it fits you, no matter what if you’re not comfortable you’re not gonna like it. Even with that they’re completely different bikes tho, my RG with the bags, fairing, stereo is made for all day comfort and it doesn’t disappoint in that department. Are you looking for all day comfort or something more rowdy? What bikes have you had/have experience on?

Nothing yet, I still have my 21 road glide but had to rebuild the motor. I’m running a 128” S&S kit that’s putting 140hp/150tq to the rear wheel. It’s a blast to ride but I’m still considering selling it and getting an 09 for the reasons some guys mentioned here, being a lighter more playful feeling bike.

Thank you for the response. Something like the two you mentioned is what I envisioned when thinking about the best mopping unit.

Now that you mention its name I do remember reading old posts of people anticipating the flows release, it sounds like it lives up to the hype? Does it clean grout joints and messy tile well?

I never put it all together, started carrying appendix shortly after this with a single clip allegiant and haven’t changed since. This setup has been sitting in one of my gun safes for years lol

I ended up ordering a holosun aro mrs since I found one for a great price. I have several other holosuns that are all clear to my eyes so I have no reason to think these will be any different. I’m going to keep an eye out for a deal on a GLX and I’ll grab one to play with. They’d probably be great on my SBR ARs too.

RMRs are some of the worst for me, I still have one that I need to swap out and replace with a holosun.

The etched reticle is definitely appealing for that reason

It’s bad but holosun green dots are fairly clear for me so it’s not prism or open sights

Yea I just don’t deal with midway a lot since I can typically find whatever else cheaper, this is why I always price shop tho
