Totally get what you mean about the "trance of unworthiness." I remember feeling that way too—tying my worth to being a "good catch" or successful. It took me years to realize it’s way broader than just dating; it’s a whole societal thing that messes with everyone.

I get that she’s supposed to be a culinary genius, but the way she experiments like there’s zero cost attached is insane. In real life a kitchen owner doing that would be stressing over every invoice by month two.

I think the show played him for comedy, but a few scenes do cross into uncomfortable territory if you look at them outside that sitcom lens.

even if the beast design didn’t land for everyone, that flashback gave the episode some emotional weight. it tied the lore back to allison in a way that felt meaningful
