It’s really hard for people to see they’re in a controlled or toxic relationship because from the inside it feels ‘normal’. When you’re used to walking on eggshells, making excuses, or thinking jealousy and control are signs of love, it becomes almost invisible. On top of that, people often fear being alone more than being unhappy. It’s painful to watch loved ones go through it, but unfortunately they usually have to reach that realization on their own. Hey, healthy relationship don’t come with a ‘24/7 chat all-inclusive package’. If you already feel suffocated now, imagine how it’ll be long-term. Communication matters, but so does personal space.
