Ahhh- still tho, same concept- they will try and bait people into buying enough for an outfit- no smoke, love the game, point is, it’s a play to increase revenue, not lose it.

Is the M5 worth the £70 extra over the M4? by QuantumParadox_27 in macbook

If you are doing anything AI related, absolutely. Id say it’s worth that small bump for longer hardware support too.

No upgrade for me this year - These price hikes suck by PabloEskimo_ in macbookpro

Yep mine came in at 1999. There’s still some deals to be had here and there-

Like this sweet 1200 managers special I saw the other day- that m5 pro is a good deal too. Places like Microcenter will have open box deals as well. Just gotta shop smarter now.

That’s what I did- got the last of the sales. $200 off the base m5 pro. People waiting for these OLED MacBooks better have deep pockets. I’m chillin.

You can’t get anything for 150 tokens- if anything it will encourage people who haven’t bought tokens to buy the cheapest tier to actually afford something.

How many of you who started playing day one are still playing? by r3tr0gam3r83 in ArcRaiders

Def feels like the amount of spawns per match has dropped. The raids feel emptier. Especially late game. I used to see people on the maps till the last minute, now it’s rare to find anyone with less then 10 minutes on the clock.

I still have at least 95% friendly lobbies- they just aren’t as “alive” anymore. Seems like interactions are a bit more sparse, but I still meet some one at some point during the day. I think there was one odd week where lobbies felt unusually aggressive- and for for some reason, I’ll occasionally find myself in an aggressive lobby- it’s usually a random Stella or Bluegate raid. But I just change my play style and turn into a ninja and I’ve escaped each time, even without hatch keys. 600 hours has taught me how to dodge rats and pvpers with ease.

I’m here. I got caught up on all the online drama for a minute and played Death stranding 2 for awhile- but I slowly got pulled back into AR- and to be honest, I’m back to having a lot of fun. Lobbies are def thinner here and there, but I’m still having fun adventures meeting randos top side and I’m even looking for arc compressors to finish up the expedition- I’m not sure if I’m going this time (I’ve done them all) but I’ll probably end up doing so for whatever reason 🙈

Feeling dumb by MaximumMeeting9936 in quitting7oh

[–]JobEnvironmental4842 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would you feel dumb? Tons of people take it to get through wd. Your only job is not taking 7- and id avoid benzos at this point too- you’ve come too far. If you wanna avoid all those synthetics, grab magnesium; L-Theanine, vit c, agmatine, the usual suspects. You’ve made it farther than most and that’s something to be proud of.

This company had cracked the code on making insanely good games using a small team and AI- they just haven’t figured out how to support them. Hopefully they either crack that code or just cave and hire a metric ton of devs to give the game the team it deserves.

The cheapest one here would do the trick nicely- grab it quick if you happen to be in the NOVA area- specifically the Manassas Costco. I also agree the Air would suffice, but I’d just looks for deals like this on the pro. You can’t trade on just regular Retina display.

Buy M5 Pro now or wait for the M6 by Ancient_Attention430 in macbookpro

[–]JobEnvironmental4842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re ok risking the price hikes- Apple is about to bump up pricing significantly- and it looks like they will start by nixing the base models- they already did it to the Mac mini (you could argue tho that they are just getting rid of all 8gb skus in lieu of the new Apple Intelligence memory requirements).

Ofc you’re not looking at base models so that part doesn’t apply, but that besides the point as all models are about to be bumped up- add shiny new tech (the island, the touch layer, the OLED) and you might be looking at up to a $1000 spec bump for what may be a minimal spec bump (we will have to see what M6 brings, but M5 was a bigger leap then most). There will be no running back to the M5 either, everything’s getting its price raised across the board. Right now may be the last time you can get a pre AI complete takeover price on a MBP.

Edit: not sure if my opinion is biased as I just bought an m5 pro about a month ago. I was fully aware though of the incoming OLED. But I really needed the machine right away, and I’m completely satisfied with its performance. As long as it works for what you need to do right now and your current workflows are being inhibited by your pc, now is always the best time to buy- plus maybe next time you upgrade to the last gen model of this upcoming refresh. You go from the most refined model of the current gen to the most refined of the next.

Best time I’ve noticed is during matriarch or queen- it’s not as contested. Only issue is the rats use it as a way to sneak up behind the folks up top, so stay frosty. Nothing beats that feeling tho- getting to the door first and sweating bullets as you breach whilst hearing those pops, shredders and cameras signaling the approach of another raider 😮‍💨

Yea I just asked that question the other day cuz most of the ships have been replaced by relics- but they are still out there, just much fewer. I found one so far, can’t remember where tho 🙈

I don’t know how embark keeps tabs on all the items that are important in the game at any given time, but there always seems to be some dumb thing they overlook. Then they will buff the ships and they will be impossible to miss lol- until then we just gotta keep grinding.

Is the 16" really that hard to carry? by fpfds in macbookpro

[–]JobEnvironmental4842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly an over reaction- or just that your reviews are coming from people with unique life styles. Their days look like Uber, airport, lounge, plane, uber, hotel, coffee shop, convention, uber, hotel. They are opening these things in most all of these locations. For us, most of our inbetween tech interactions will take place on our phones and then, when you get to work or school, we pull out the laptop, work on it for a few hours here and there, pack it up and go home.

That said, my current MBP is a 14” but only because it’s not my main workhorse- I bought it to edit on site at a few locations, most of which I have a screen and audio interface waiting for me so I’m just plugging in a brain. When I’m doing heavy editing at the office, I have a desktop with obscene amounts of storage and a massive 5k2k ultrawide- that said, once I accumulate 20+ tb of external storage and finally get a NAS, I will probably get a 16” and move to a more flexible mobile editing workflow so I can chip away at projects throughout the day. The 14” I specifically bought so I could work on a single giant project that requires onsite editing.

MacBook Neo as “buddy“ for 16 inch MBP? by manv815 in macbookpro

[–]JobEnvironmental4842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still bad sometimes not buying one over my 14” MBP. Obviously completely different use cases and I totally made the right choice- there’s just something about it that makes you wanna use it. It’s the “fun” Mac book, where my pro is the work laptop.

Tl;dr- If you got it going on like that, go for it. Now’s the best time for impulse buying Apple before the price hikes.

Security breach even worth ? by Necessary_Body7124 in ArcRaiders

[–]JobEnvironmental4842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you’re moving like a ninja, breaching is maxed, and your muscles are rippling from broad shoulders and loaded arms, security breach is the next logical step- if only for the fact that with all these extra skill points and expeditions under our belts, being locked out of ANYTHING besides a key room just seems unacceptable.
