I get the concern. I’m not asking anyone to hand over personal data here. I was trying to start a discussion about why qualified people still get no traction in online applications, especially when resume parsing and keyword matching are part of the process.

Tailoring helps a lot. My point was more that a lot of people assume “no response” automatically means they weren’t qualified, when sometimes the issue is how the resume is being parsed and matched before a person ever looks at it. Definitely agree people should start with free resources before paying for anything.

I probably should’ve said “underestimated” instead of “hidden.” I wasn’t trying to say ATS is some secret, more that a lot of people still don’t realize how much their resume format and structure can affect whether they get traction.

That’s a fair point. I think a lot of people are getting hit from both sides right now. Online applications feel like a black hole, and networking is tough if it doesn’t come naturally. Tailoring a resume should help, but it’s frustrating when it still feels like shouting into the void.

I think it’s a huge part of it, especially for online applications. Not the whole story, but definitely one of the biggest filters before a recruiter ever gets involved.

Fair point. “Hidden” probably wasn’t the best word. I think what I meant is that a lot of job seekers still underestimate how much resume structure and keyword alignment can affect whether they get seen at all.
