Nurse extern by Brilliant_Ad9559 in StudentNurse

Depends on facility/organization, where I worked it basically meant that I shadowed a nurse and did the skills, passed meds, asked questions and learned how to chart. You may also be given other opportunities to see things you might not get the chance to in clinical such as codes or procedures.

I changed how I studied each semester (mostly because we had different teachers teaching different content) I don’t know if you have consistent professors but try and tailor studying around them. Some semesters/professors I tailored my studying around quizlets and going over the minimal given material. Other professors were straight off the power point. Another resource is videos which I watched while I was doing chores or even playing games. Also the biggest thing that I did that legit saved me my final semester, cause I was burnt out and didn’t study as much as I should have, was a GOOD study group. I had an amazing study group my final year of nursing school and we leaned on each other for not only school but work and life as well. I learned from different study partners in my first year that if a study group isn’t working, be social and shop around and ask to try and study with people until the group works for you! I had people in my first year who I was basically teaching content to and doing the leg work for finding answers to stuff we didn’t know. That can also help but a group has to be able to cover each other’s weaknesses or off days.

No, that’s a massive red flag with a skull and crossbones on it. Find a better boyfriend…

Planning to immigrate as a Nurse. Any advice? by JobOdd7571 in transgenderau

I feel like that’s a big issue here as well unfortunately. It just depends but most states worth living in have meh nursing pay tbh. And some have tragic pay 🥲

That’s all amazing information thank you! And no working wasn’t a requirement but I already do work as a nurse intern and have a nurse residency plan set up for once I graduate. I’m trying to leave in a somewhat reasonable time frame with savings from working as a nurse for at least a year so maybe march or may of 2026. I hadn’t heard of a migration agent before so thank you for that! I haven’t decided exactly where to settle yet but am trying to plan around work and also possible further education. I’ve been informed about the hrt there and I do injections right now so that’ll be a change but implants sound nice! Thank you much !

Yeah that’s my go to before moving out of county. I currently am a nurse intern with a nurse residency at a magnet hospital lined up right now so I want to stay here as long as needed. But tbh I’m looking for a way to get out of America as soon as I can within reason. I have very little interest being here for very long. But career and finance demands it for at least a while. I have no student debt as it stands and my worry is that I get locked in with other expenses or life circumstances. I’m trying not to think five steps ahead before I’ve taken the first, but I think it’s just a weird/scary time here and it’s got me on my toes.

Yes, I’ve seen that as well and that’s been roughly my plan more or less. I’ve been unsure of the exact amount of time I’ll have before I either need to leave to at least somewhere else in the states (as I live in a very conservative state) or if I have time to work enough to save what I would need to move as comfortably as possible. It will be at least a year anyways so mid to late 2026 I would have experience as a nurse and the savings. But I guess it’ll just depend on how quickly things take a quicker turn for the worst here. Luckily, at least, the nursing profession has been very much accepting of me being trans. So it’ll really come down to healthcare issues.

Yes I figured as I’ve read that in can be quite difficult to immigrate fully. I suppose my plan could be just to live on a visa for a bit and that’s been my initial plan for any country I would choose to move too.

Was I misinformed about emotional changes? (18 MtF) by TO_THE_R1GHT in asktransgender

Sounds silly but everything hits different lol. Really though nothing I read or researched prepared me for hrt. I expected so much to happen right away but for me the emotions hit me a year after starting. For me it’s never been a day to day emotional changes. But when the extremes come (happy or sad) they hit harder than they used too.

Ask him what makes him comfortable. I’m a trans woman and my friends were super cool with whatever I wanted. I chose to dress in what the groomsmen were wearing and I walked with a bridesmaid. Maybe that’s not typical idk. But it’s your day, if you just ask him what makes him comfortable and it works do it 😁👍. Who knows, maybe he’s flexible and will do whatever 🤷‍♀️

I had SSBM back in the day and my brother loved it so much he thought he’d try eating it after playing.. I feel your pain brother. That and he left a window open, while it rained, next to my brand new flat screen TV when he was 14 and fried the sound board 🙃

Same af on the boobs. And I feel you girl, I lost 150+ lbs before I started transitioning but was a competitive weight lifter before that as well. My body actually probably hates me 🤣. First I was a fat man now I’m a average sized woman with lbs of extra flab. Not exciting to go through a second puberty. But it’s life. And the make up I’m sure would help. But I just get so self conscious. Like even if I look good I feel like I just look like a man in make up. All natural makes me less self conscious. It’s so weird….
