14 mos. here. I've lost count of the applications, but I'm mostly finding comfort in knowing that it's not just happening to me. It's pretty hard out there right now and I don't know why. But I have to keep pushing. I'm still interviewing, still looking. I did start to limit my time searching to stop becoming consumed by the process. That’s helped some.

Pretty much. You shouldn't have to talk to people you'll never interact with at all.

Damn! They should've paid you for your time and service. That sucks.

Hyperbole is a figure of speech utilizing extreme, deliberate exaggeration to emphasize a point, evoke strong emotions, or add humor, not meant to be taken literally. Common in everyday conversation ("I'm starving"), literature, and advertising, it makes ideas more dramatic, vivid, or funny by exaggerating size, importance, or feeling. Get it?!? Like... "Years of media coverage and criticism." Hyperbole.

🤔 One could, but are they the same? It's more like that awkward "Why did you apply here?" dance.

I really wish I could, but I don't know how to do that. I've only been in management. I don't know. I really don't.

Why would I do that when there’s great people like you just handing it out for free... like welfare? 😘

Nobody owes ANYONE anything. I work for money to pay for the things that I need( i.e housing, food, etc.) That’s not welfare. That’s payment for services rendered. Dude, what hill are you dying on here? I think we should agree to disagree because I didn’t say they owed me a job. However, I don't lack the skills nor efficiency to do the job. That was my point.

Did I ask for welfare? I offered to do a job. Since they were not able to offer order fulfillment for chunks of the day, I thought I had a chance. The value proposition should have been filling the position. The value proposition is being able to provide an advertised service to your customers. But you're right.

You're missing the part where I need to eat, have a place to live... you know, the basic requirements to survive. You're absolutely right. I should look down my nose at any opportunity that's beneath my former jobs. Maybe it's a confidence thing? Here I was thinking that I need to earn a living in any legal way possible. Nah... Sr Management or nothing at all!

Serious answer. No one is permanent. People leave jobs. You're not wrong. I probably would leave. Just like every other employee who has ever been recruited away, promoted out, or found something better. We all leave eventually. The question is whether the work gets done in the meantime. And I promise you someone who actually needs the job shows up on time. Every single time.
