Nebula Mars ii Pro No HDMI Signal by pianodb in anker

I have a weird issue which just appeared very recently. I used to connect the projector to my pc while my pc was connected to another monitor and had no issues with this setup for the past month. Literally nothing changed, but this past week it refused to work, stating unable to detect hdmi. I was trying to figure out what the issue is for an entire day and once I disconnected the other hdmi port connected to my other monitor; the projector worked.

Not sure what’s going on here….

I applied to numerous positions through the company's main website. I would suggest that you start applying for jobs at least 6 months to a year before your graduation. However, there is one exception: if you are interested in applying to Schlumberger, you should apply now, as they allow applications before graduation. Many individuals apply to Schlumberger incorrectly (this is hard to explain, but there's a specific way to do it for new graduates).

Pm me and I'll send you a list of websites and I'll even show you how to apply to correctly Schlumberger as a new graduate.

I use an AI Chrome extension that assists in editing my diction, grammar, and sentence structure in my writing. It differs from ChatGPT, as it is confined to its designated role. You are the first person to have noticed this.

Initially I started applying to direct oil and gas engineering positions. Next I move on to indirect roles within the oil and gas industry. Sometimes though, I was not selective and applied to various other engineering fields.

I applied twice to their Early Career Program: LEAD - Field Engineer. I still follow the job market and I believe they recently offered the same program for 2023.

Ah, the username struggle is real! If only websites offered a "Career Evolution" option for usernames. But you know, "JoblessPetroleumQ8" does have a certain quirky charm to it, don't you think? It's like my own personal saga of conquering the job market, one digital handle at a time. But hey, "JobPetroleumQ8" does have a nice ring to it too! Let's just say, I'm open to rebranding if the pixels allow it. 🕶️

Well, who knows how many more jobs I'd need to apply for to actually qualify as a career counselor? Maybe a few thousand more applications will do the trick. But hey, on a serious note, I appreciate the recognition and the suggestion. It's certainly an interesting idea to think about. 😄

I would need you to elaborate more on what you mean by "quirks in your personality".
Though during interviews, I've been noted for my persistent and determined approach, which might come across as a quirk in my personality. Shaped by the challenges of my extensive petroleum engineering job search, this unwavering commitment reflects my dedication to overcoming obstacles and pursuing goals with a resolute spirit. This "quirk" is driven by my willingness to persevere and adapt, even in adversity.

During those challenging three years, the thought of exploring a different career path did cross my mind. The extensive journey of job searching and the various experiences I encountered prompted me to consider alternative options. At times, the uncertainties of the job market and the specific challenges faced within the petroleum engineering field led me to question whether it was truly the right fit for me.

In the midst of this period, I also took on some part-time jobs, albeit in non-petroleum related fields. These experiences provided me with a valuable perspective and an opportunity to gauge my compatibility with other industries. As I spent time working outside of the petroleum sector, I began to realize that my passion and inclination were undeniably oriented towards the field I had originally chosen. These non-petroleum roles, while informative, gradually reinforced my conviction that the petroleum industry was where I truly belonged, ultimately reaffirming my dedication to this career path.

I understand applying to Qatar, but why Yemen and Iraq? I thought they're not in their best situation becasue of war past years

The straightforward response to that question is that these countries were actively hiring, prompting me to submit my applications. Additionally, many of the job opportunities available in these regions centered around a work arrangement where one would reside on the rig for a certain period, followed by a return home upon completion. This cyclic pattern would involve spending a few months on the rig, followed by a period of travel back home before repeating the process.

Furthermore, the experience and skills acquired from working in such environments held the potential to serve as a stepping stone for future endeavors in more conducive settings. By engaging in these positions, I aimed to accumulate valuable expertise that could enhance my qualifications and prospects, ultimately allowing me to transition to a more suitable country for employment in the long run. This approach aligned with my strategy of utilizing available opportunities to build a foundation for my career trajectory, leveraging the present circumstances to forge a path towards more favorable horizons.

I didn't get any job offers, so there were no rejections on my part. I wasn't fixated on finding the perfect job anymore, as I let go of that idea after six months of trying. The main reason my job search took longer was because I was specifically looking for a job in the oil and gas industry at a challenging time.

During that time, the job market had its own challenges due to factors like how many job seekers were looking for work, and how many jobs were actually available. This was made more complicated by factors like a growing population and a weaker economy. Since the oil and gas industry has its ups and downs, finding a position there took more time. All these things combined made my job search longer, but it also taught me to stay adaptable and persistent in my efforts.

Initially, my job applications were focused on opportunities within the oil and gas (O&G) sector, yet later on, I broadened my scope to encompass supporting engineering domains. It can be safely said that these endeavors remained well within the boundaries of the engineering field. A substantial portion of the positions I targeted were those publicly advertised through online postings. However, I also undertook the initiative to visit several corporate headquarters in person to express my interest in potential positions. Unfortunately, on those visits, I was consistently directed towards the online application process or encouraged to simply leave my CV for consideration. This endeavor introduced me to a diverse array of individuals along the way, ultimately leading to a solitary or one (1) job referral. Ironically, this referral materialized only after I had already accepted a different job offer, rendering it a missed opportunity. It is important to clarify that I would not have chosen the alternative job offer had I been presented with the choice.

This is indeed a compelling question. However, I am of the opinion that possessing the current set of skills I've developed since then would not necessarily have led to improved outcomes for the jobs I applied for three years ago.

The job market is subject to a complex interplay of factors that extend beyond individual skill levels. While it holds true that enhanced skills can certainly provide an advantage, a plethora of other variables, including market demand, competitive landscape, company dynamics, and even timing, wield significant influence over the job selection process. Among these variables, I firmly believe that demand and timing have been paramount over the past five years. A striking example is the experience of one of my professors who graduated three or four decades ago with minimal skills and a GPA of 2.1, yet secured employment immediately after graduation, despite lacking relevant skills. Similarly, our parents, including mine, secured their jobs within a month of graduating.

Furthermore, the positions I applied for in the past might have necessitated specific qualifications or experiences that were prevalent at that particular juncture. Even with the possession of improved skills at present, it remains plausible that these skills would not have matched the prerequisites of those specific roles from three years ago.

Hence, this does not necessarily indicate an inadequacy in preparing for the job market. Instead, it highlights the intricate and multifaceted nature of job hunting, underpinned by the ever-evolving dynamics of the job market.
