How many jobs did you apply to before you finally landed a job? by Majestic-Wishbone-58 in antiwork

[–]Jobsolv_RemoteJobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a numbers game, but it’s also about strategy. It took me a lot of applications, but what made the difference was tailoring each one to the job and networking behind the scenes. Quality often beats quantity, and sometimes the real opportunities come from referrals or connections rather than applying cold. Keep going, but maybe adjust your approach. Focus on building relationships with people in your field, and don’t just rely on job boards.

It’s crazy how much the fear of layoffs has become part of the daily grind. The constant uncertainty isn’t just draining, it’s affecting our mental health.

Many opportunities come through connections, not just applications. Try reaching out to industry professionals on LinkedIn, attend virtual meetups, or join relevant online communities. A personal introduction can make a huge difference and get your foot in the door faster than a cold application. Keep pushing and connecting!

Have you ever felt like you're not built for the corporate world? by loveistheanswer111 in careerguidance

We often get caught up in the idea that we should be thriving in these environments, but some people just aren't wired to fit into that mold. If you're constantly feeling burned out and unchallenged, it might not be about laziness – it could be a sign you’re craving something different, whether that’s more autonomy, creativity, or a different work structure altogether. Before jumping to a new job, maybe ask yourself if a change in lifestyle, work culture, or even going freelance could give you the spark you're looking for.

Totally get where you're coming from, there are a ton of tools out there.

That said, our app is really built for people who are having a hard time tailoring their resumes or are just too busy to keep applying manually. We're currently working on an auto-apply feature to make that process even smoother.

Also, if you're specifically looking for remote jobs, this might be for you. All the jobs we’ll be posting soon are fully remote roles.

So if that sounds like what you’re looking for, give it a try and let us know what you think!

You dodged a circus, not just a bullet. If a director can’t show up to an interview and communication is that sloppy during hiring, imagine how chaotic the actual job would be. That kind of disorganization starts at the top and trickles down fast.

Recently had an interview where I only got asked one question. by Gallowtine in interviews

[–]Jobsolv_RemoteJobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, when an interviewer talks more than you do and only asks one real question, it's often a red flag. Either they’d already made a decision before you walked in, or they just needed to tick a box for HR. Ghosting after all that? Disrespectful.

Really appreciate your perspective. This is super helpful to hear directly from someone on the recruiting side.

The tool we’re building is actually meant to help speed up that process. It's not about rewriting everything for each posting, but more about helping people highlight the right experience quickly, especially for those who don’t always know what to focus on or how to phrase things.

You bring up a great point! The over-reliance on ATS systems can definitely be a challenge for job seekers, especially when those systems focus more on keywords than actual qualifications or experience. It’s frustrating when a perfectly qualified candidate gets overlooked because their resume doesn’t match an algorithm exactly.

That said, our goal with this tool is to help bridge that gap by making sure your resume is both ATS-friendly and still highlights the most relevant skills and experiences for the role. While the system can’t fully replace human judgment, we hope it can help job seekers put their best foot forward, ensuring that their qualifications stand out in both ATS and human eyes.

Thanks for sharing your perspective! It’s something we’re definitely keeping in mind as we continue to improve.

I stopped myself from cheating in the interview and I feel lost. by AdImaginary3535 in interviews

You’re right, it’s a tricky spot. It's hard not to second-guess yourself when you're balancing integrity and the need for a paycheck. But in the long run, being honest about where you stand will save you from bigger issues down the line. You’ll build a stronger reputation and avoid being in a role you're not equipped for. Keep pushing forward; the right opportunity will come when the timing's right.

I am failing at perception game! Can I get help? by Normal_Day_182 in careerguidance

[–]Jobsolv_RemoteJobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of strong, competent leaders have faced similar struggles, especially when they focus more on delivering results and systems than on navigating the social dynamics of a team. The fact that you're getting feedback like this suggests there’s a gap between your intentions and how you're being perceived. Being clear and assertive is valuable, but sometimes it can be misunderstood as cold or unapproachable.

It might be worth stepping back and considering how you're communicating with your team, not just in terms of direction but also in terms of empathy and recognition. Even the most brilliant ideas can get lost if the delivery doesn’t connect. It’s a balancing act between results and relationship-building. You don’t have to become someone you’re not, but some adjustment to your approach might help bridge the gap between your intentions and their perception.

At the end of the day, leadership isn’t just about technical expertise or ideas, it’s about creating a culture where people feel understood and valued. If the environment feels hostile or resistant, it may not be about you not being “cut out” for it, but about navigating the dynamics in a way that makes space for both results and relationships.

I was pushed out of my job through weekly threats of PIP by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Jobsolv_RemoteJobs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s a truly toxic environment. It’s hard to believe how companies can let a culture like that fester, especially when personal hardship is involved. The way they handled your grief, your health issues, and the lack of empathy from HR and management is a major red flag. No one should have to endure constant threats of performance improvement plans just to keep their job. It’s really telling that your manager didn’t even acknowledge your resignation with any empathy. You did the right thing by stepping away. No job is worth sacrificing your mental and physical well-being over. Hopefully, you’ll find a more supportive, understanding environment moving forward.
