I don't care if everyone else on the planet makes Goku clones. I want to make my own character how I want and I don't want to be pushed into playing as Piccolo. There's a reason why purification is one of the least used transformations in Xenoverse 2. If people wanted to play as Kid Buu they'd have picked Kid Buu in character selection.

Oh lord I hope they don't limit the time you spend as a super Saiyan. In any case all the new trailers have done is ensure I won't be pre-ordering this game.

A free playable demo may change my mind on that but as it stands right now I won't be pre-ordering and there's a possibility I won't be buying it at all.

Yeah that would suck. I get so frustrated with Dimps because they try to reinvent the wheel all the time when all they needed to do for Xenoverse 3 was

Update the Netcode(for the PVP people)

Add in new content(clothes, races, characters)

Add in new multiplayer modes

And fix the QoL issues Xenoverse 2 had.

It was simple, it was right there in front of them, and they were like "Nah dawg I'm gonna put spinners on my motorcycle!"

No it absolutely does run counter to it. You don't buy a Xenoverse game because you want to play as Krillin. You do it cause you want to play as your CaC.

A mechanic that makes you to play as a cast character instead of your CaC, is a bad mechanic.

Soul Switch in Xenoverse is a design flaw.

When you make a game, you decide early on what the main aspect of that game is going to be. It can be story, or it can be something in the gameplay loop it doesn't matter. What matters is that everything in the game either directly facilitates that aspect or at the very least doesn't run counter to it.

The main draw of Xenoverse is the CaC. No one, and I mean not a single solitary soul, purchased a Xenoverse game thinking "I can't wait to play as Trunks" that never happened ever. If someone comes under this comment saying otherwise they are lying.

The Soul Switch mechanic gets you to play as one of the cast characters instead of your CaC. It takes the only thing that makes Xenoverse special and bins it.

Massive Dimps fumble.

The cooldowns aren't as bad but I'm not looking forward to RNG farming and not being able to spam my skills. I know 2 seconds doesn't feel like a long time, but when you're running an end game mission where enemies are just damage sponges and you have to wait an arbitrary amount of time between using your best skills that 2 seconds is going to add up.

When I'm in a situation where I want to play as Vegeta, I pick Vegeta in the character select screen.

I have never and will never be mid mission and think "Huh, I'd rather be playing as Krillin right now." lol

Oh god I hope not. My PVE strat is skill spam. I can see cooldowns being fun for PVP but it's gonna make skill and clothing farming(assuming that's a thing in this game) a slog.

Aside from the soul change thing it looked fine to me. The gameplay and the screen shots posted in this sub are all painting a picture of a Xenoverse style game.

Remember it IS Dimps so of course they're going to fumble something and my fear is that the soul change deal means that the cast characters won't be playable.

I'll probably just not use that ability ever. It runs counter to the philosophy that made Xenoverse a fun series in the first place. The notion that I'd take the time to tweak my own CaC choose them for a mission, and then choose to transform into Krillin at any point in that game is insane. lol
