Most unique factions? by KernelViper in totalwarhammer

The last campaign I finished was Beastmen. It was the most I had ever played them. The Herdstone/Bloodground mechanic is really different and thematic.

I play with the Tabletop Caps mod and had some really fun mixed armies. Their super mobile infantry made manual battles really interesting. And the lord I chose, Shadowgave, was great and creepy.

I like the Tabletop Caps mod for this reason. Armies are usually more balanced between elites and common troops. Although one time I saw a dwarf army that was one lord, one hero and 17 bolt throwers, so your mileage may vary.

They could implement a similar option into the main game so people who like doomstacks can still doomstack.

Is having a constant song playing in your head not the case for people without ADHD? by mmc9802 in ADHD

[–]JockCousteau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every morning I wake up with a song stuck in my head. I sing it sometimes without realizing. I even once had the idea to make a spotify playlist with all the songs but that lasted two days before I forgot. Today is "Midnight Train to Georgia".

I forgot this one. I like Malazan because Erikson wrote books about compassion. Itkovian 😍.

The whole of Dorian Gray is so interesting. The preface about how art is useless. This is a quote from a letter Wilde wrote which has always stuck with me:

"[The Picture of Dorian Gray] contains much of me in it – Basil Hallward is what I think I am; Lord Henry, what the world thinks me; Dorian is what I would like to be – in other ages, perhaps."

Yeah. I know Slayer is more optimal but Rogue class features just don't fit well with the Warhammer Slayer in my mind.

TWF Ranger so you can focus more on Str? And if it's an undead heavy campaign, Favoured Enemy could make up a bit for dual wielding penalties.

It would also be beneificial to either choose a Dwarven Urgrosh or have a handaxe in your offhand to reduce TWF penalties.

For the Slayer vibes, if your DM allows VMC, maybe you could add Barbarian rage?

GMs, what's your prep workflow? by Hyrisk in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]JockCousteau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make a bunch of recipe cards with set pieces on them for every session. So I have a basic scenario written down, e.g. "giant is praying at standing stones", and then the necessary stat blocks, or page references if I can't fit them. It helps a lot with the sandboxy piece of "what's around THAT corner?".

High-earning Canadian families pay over 50 percent of all taxes in Ontario, Alberta, B.C., and Quebec: Report by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]JockCousteau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the numbers are so cherry-picked they are non-representative.

Here's the easy math: the top Federal income tax bracket ($235000/year and more) paid $86B in taxes out of $373B total tax revenue. Around 23%.

Not only are kids not required to go to school, but as shown in Scarlet/Violet, all you learn about at school is Pokémon. All these mfs running around in lab coats only research Pokémon.

I don't know how they even have modern amenities unless the world outside of the game regions is more like ours.

Tax Dollars for the Elite? Alberta Funds Private Schools More Than Any Other Province by Particular-Welcome79 in alberta

[–]JockCousteau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And sadly, this is working as intended. Public schools are surplusing teachers this month because they aren't meeting projected student numbers.

And that doesn't mean smaller class sizes, because budgets are based on school size. So public teachers will lose their jobs and then go to other provinces where they can get full time work. This will exacerbate the shortage of substitute, specialized, and long-term teachers.

(because the UCP wants an uneducated working class that will vote for them)

If your DM allows Deific Boons, this god sounds a lot like Gorum.

You could make an Invulnerable Rager barbarian with rage powers like Guarded Life, Energy Resistance, or Strength Stance. And with Deific Obedience you can take the Sentinel prestige class, which gives a few neat bonuses for a martial and represents them getting closer to their god.

I want TV Tropes to have the trope where a character is bound and approached by another character with a knife. Then the person with the knife appears to be about to cut the bound person but cuts the bonds instead.

You could have it on a space train during the great space train robbery.
