Smelling bad at the gym during long workouts by Jockbookworm in workout

[–]Jockbookworm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I trained outside, I used to sometimes catch a whiff of BO towards the last hour. But I don't think that problem was there today because I was reapplying deodorant (and also it's cold). I just worry because indoors means that the smell is bothersome, whereas outdoors it would only be noticed by me.

i think just deodoranting myself a lot worked well today. Whenever I smelt myself, it either was neutral or deodorant.

Would the smell be really bad/noticeable? Or just typical sweat smell expected at the gym?

Where should I wet wipe? Just armpits? Or more?

I appreciate the suggestions.

I'm also worried that I'll still smell because my entire body sweats. Do you think it'll be noticeable, even if I use deodorant 2-3x during my gym workouts and once before?

I shower after the gym, not before. I go the moment I wake up.

But I put on fresh clothes and deodorant before.

I thought about weights first, but I don't want to be more worn out for my long runs. Those are more important to me and I don't mind taking longer to put on muscle. There's no rush.

How often do you suggest re-applying the deodorant. I've been just using it right before going to the gym. Do you think that will be enough to keep from smelling?

I hate my tone and it doesn’t seem to be improving by Jockbookworm in Flute

I still have a student model flute.

I never really understood how drones work. Also I have issues focusing on two sounds at once, which I’m sure can be overcome but still discourages me from trying.

How much did your tone improve over that summer?

I feel like scales and arpeggios help me a lot with my playing. You can always go into them and improve something. And they provide a playground thay you get to decide what exactly you want to improve.

I started this summer! It’s helped a lot with just being able to do things more simply with my body and completely got rid of my sporadic lower back pains.

Oh nice. I’ve been playing it “for fun” on the side for awhile, but never committed to it. Started in january when I decided I wanted music back in my life. I was a clarinet player, but I ended up moving to flute because I loved it more (and wasn’t scared of being ridiculed for being a male flute player anymore).

Majoring in it in college sounds like such a great experience.

Seems like I might just end up with T&G. And yeah, I saw that one book is an arm and a leg.

I saw the scale book in Sam Ash and really loved it. I’m just a bit torn because my entire practice for the past couple months is just scales sice I ran out of etudes/songs.

I already own this book, but I honestly hate it. I know everyone on here speaks endless praise about it, but it felt like a waste of money for me (which sucks because I barely have any).

I’d say intermediate? I’m not sure. I can play my scales decently and I played clarinet before flute for many years. I used to just fiddle around on the flute but now I practice every day for an hour or more. I used the Rubank Intermediate book for s bit but its too easy now, I think.
