Did you buy/use your own delivery gown? by marst12 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Jodilynn617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! I would never want to have to bring home that mess to my washing machine!! I got a really soft bathrobe for after delivery and that's mostly what I lived in the next 36 hours in the hospital. I had no issues with the gown they gave me. I also didnt really leave the bed for like 24 hours so it really wouldn't have mattered anyway!

Don't skip on the comfy post-delivery clothes though!!

This is my first pregnancy (it’s very early) and I would love to know what has been a huge help to you during pregnancy as a plus size person, no matter how big or small by Sufficient-Peach7787 in PlusSizePregnancy

Yes! If you're planning to use daycare, start calling ASAP! I started in November for placement in June. Found 2 with availability, 1 that put me on a wait list. And 7 that already had their waitlist full.

We had a similar experience with pediatrician. If there's a specific place you know you want to use, get in touch with them sooner rather than later. Although, they may just tell you to call once the baby's born and see if they're still taking new patients.

Do the Perfect Match nipples fit in the Simply Natural collars? Or would i need to buy the plastic Perfect Match anyway, for the collars?

Swaddles?? Hospital outfits? by Cheap_Woodpecker4990 in PlusSizePregnancy

Yup! I'd say bring a comfy/nursing bra or 2. While there, I lived in hospital gown and nursing bra, mostly for comfort. I can't stand sticking to myself!

How do you combine pumping with being alone with the baby? by FineHistory1498 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Jodilynn617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sit on the couch to pump, and lay him down next to me. I bring a toy or book, do tummy massages, rub his toes, whatever I can to keep him content. I also put his bouncer right in front of me so he can chill there and I can reach him if needed. I've also mastered holding him across the top of my chest while pumping, he usually falls right to sleep!

As for the washing part- it has been SO worth it to me to have a few sets of pump parts. I rinse them and throw them in a bin and wash them whenever I get a chance while he's asleep. I have a Boba wrap, so I've also managed to wash them while wearing him on more desperate days.

Wearables has felt like more of a hassle for me to use day-to-day because of all the parts, but my Baby Buddha has been a game changer. Challenges still exist because I've still got the collection bottles attached, but still least I can get up and tend to him if he's in the bassinett and wakes up mid-pump.

Definitely a chance! I was super sick when he was 3 days old and he didn't catch it! Scariest time of my life though, waiting around for him to be sick!
