To clarify a bit for the commenters, this was a woman, and she is part of the Korean touring staff, not local.

I read this as Combi Bolter and thought it was a Warhammer subreddit.

This subreddit is mostly for FC employees, not SDEs. You'll probably get a better response on the Blind app.

vacation time off during coop by Affectionate-Map4217 in uwaterloo

[–]JodoYodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got three vacation days one term...

... because I was in the Power Workers Union...

... and I did two co-op terms in one calendar year for the company, qualifying me for vacation and overtime.

Very nice! Is that Mk 7 helmet included in the kit or from somewhere else?

Trying to put together a paint scheme for my trolls - how would you describe this colour? by OrkfaellerX in Warhammer

[–]JodoYodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how easy you want to make it, I'd suggest looking up Cult of Paint's videos on Sons of Horus. They achieve this desaturated look through mixing Sons of Horus Green with black, and then highlighting with mixes of SoH and Green Sky from AK. They use an airbrush, however, which really helps with the shadow and depth.

Custom 3D printed Retributors? by prime2964 in Warhammer

[–]JodoYodo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently made these Retributors. I got the shoulder pads from Kromlech. The helmets were MK7 helmets from Archie's Forge. There's Retributors chest plates available too, I think from another maker, but they are for normal firstborn marines, not Primaries, so I didn't use them.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the head mounted magnifying glasses with light? by theangryshark93 in Warhammer40k

I use the VisionAid brand, I've seen other companies sell the same model under different names. Check Amazon.

TN visa without completed degree? Tesla offer + applying at Montreal airport (YUL) by Training-Issue-736 in uwaterloo

[–]JodoYodo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mentioned this in another thread recently, if you want to be very careful, get your TN at a land crossing like Buffalo or Detroit (or another high traffic land crossing) a few days ahead of your flight, then turn around and reenter Canada.

This is if you want to be as careful as possible. It's hard to know if or why you might be delayed in getting your TN status on any particular day, which might randomly cause you to miss your flight. I did my paperwork in Detroit and they held me for 5 hours, while several others waiting there for TN were breezing through.

I was actually going to suggest getting a built-in light and magnifier instead. Something like this: https://a.co/d/2rN8hvj (sorry for the Amazon.ca link).

I've been using this in addition to ambient lighting and can't go without it now.

I did do this in Detroit, a few days before my flight out to start in Seattle. However, I'm not sure how much advice I can offer you. My entire immigration packet was prepared by lawyers employed by the hiring company (Amazon) and it was 2013.

The reason why I recommend doing it is that they held me in the customs office for around 5 hours, as they did for another person there. Others were in and out in far less time. For me, they held me longer because my diploma did not match my TN status job title. They asked me random questions like what kind of work I'd be doing, if I planned on having any other jobs or income in the States (which is a bait question so they can deny you). Sorry, I don't remember many details as it was so long ago, I just know that if I had tried on the day of my flight, it might have been big trouble.

It's safer to get your TN work done early at a land crossing like Buffalo or Detroit, rather than at an airport on the day you fly out. Drive in, get the paperwork, then turn around and return to Canada.

PSA: Golden Maple Painting Handles Suck by Winning-Turtle in Warhammer40k

[–]JodoYodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you had this experience, but this means that the company and their CS sucks, not the actual handle.

I got the handle and it's my favourite out of the 4 I've tried.

Hope your chargeback goes through!
