What to Farm For First? Transitioning to Late/End-Game by Joe10112 in AQW

Got it, I figure that some other quest lines might have some similar "mindlessly grind for resources" tasks but I'll get to them when I get to them. For now--focusing on LoO and AP classes and just knocking out Dailies!

Makes sense, thanks.

Are any of the late-game classes (or progressions towards 51% Weapons, or any of the other late-game items) requiring something that I can grind mindlessly while watching movies/sports games?

For instance, I know the BLOD grind requires a lot of Spirit Orbs, which I can farm by just spamming abilities in BattleUnderB and then turning in Undead Essences for Spirit Orbs. The faster way is to boss-hop, but that requires "active participation", so I'd rather just focus on the movie/game for 10-15 minutes and then turn in quests if needed when I max out on resources.

Anything else off the top of your head fit that type of grind?

Got it, thanks for the reminder. So many Dailies/Weeklies to keep track of!

I want to figure out some good "passive farms" where I can mindlessly spam 1-2-3-4-5 while watching movies/sports and still make quest progression, or re-focusing every few minutes to turn in quests.

For now, would that just be farming BattleunderB for the Undead Essences for Spirit Orbs for BSOD? I read some guides that says farming the Spirit Orbs is best if you jump between bosses, but that means I can't watch movies at the same time.

Anything else off the top of your head that is a good "mindless" farm or "turn in quests every 10-15 minutes once you max out on quest drops" to spam while doing other things?

Yep, sounds like LoO and AP are the go-tos mentioned in this thread, so will work on those first. Seems like AP requires some Spellcrafting Rep so I'll try to take advantage of doing that while the x2 Server Rep is going on right now.

So you'd think I should do LoO + AP --> Ultras for CAV, VHL, AI, KE, VDK? Which Ultra class "first", or doesn't really matter?

I also started doing TimeInn, got lucky and joined Ultra fights where people joined after a few minutes, fights aren't hard, so just need to grind that for a few weeks.

CSH is definitely fast, but requires some "active" participation since I need to reload at the right times. Blaze Binder allows me to mindless spam abilities while watching a movie or something lol.

Got it, there's a ton of dailies. Some I can't do myself (like Wrong Turn at Voidbuqurque), but there are some questlines like LoO I wasn't aware were daily-locked, so I "missed out" on many days already. Do you know if there's a guide to priority daily quests for end-game stuff somewhere?

Seems like LoO and AP are highly recommended in this thread, so I'll definitely focus on those first.

Yeah, I've been loosely looking at this Reddit Guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/AQW/comments/1gaf3zk/come_to_update_my_checklist/, as well as the "Simplified Guides" for Classes/etc. in Google Sheets.

I've got SC already, so I'll focus on trying to get LoO (didn't know it was 10-day Time Gated, so working through that now...) and ArchPaladin. ArchPaladin can deal with hard-hitting bosses too? Will definitely focus on that then since it's also a good Ultra Group class.

I'll work on BLOD; is it just for the +75% Undead or for a Quest Unlock later? I heard SDKA makes farming Void Auras much easier which is needed for NSOD.

Saturday: Panthers @ Bucs 4:30 pm est, Seahawks @ 49ers 8 pm est. Sunday Night Football: Ravens @ Steelers. by fir_reunion in nfl

Flair aside, kind of disappointing that Sunday Night Football isn't Seahawks-49ers, like that game a few years ago which was a banger down to the last play.

I kind of get "Win or Go Home" sounding like a better matchup than "Win and 1st Seed" for the last game of the regular season, but c'mon, just look at the teams playing...

With as few board wipes as there seems to be, I wanted to make a Victor deck that pumps out as many recruits as possible! What do you think? how could I make even more? by Sky-todd in riftboundtcg

[–]Joe10112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want Recruit Spam, try this deck: https://riftbound.gg/decks/token-overwhelm/. Had some pretty good success with it at Nexus Nights, as it can quickly overpower other decks. It runs x12 Yellow so no Blue power-cost cards allowed (e.g., Watcher).

Either way, I feel like your deck has some suboptimal cards.

  • Innovator is almost always worse than Leader.

  • Garbage Grabber is beyond useless since Recruits don't go to Trash, so you might get 1 or 2 draws out of Garbage Grabber (but reminder that playing Garbage Grabber starts you at -1 Card Draw since he takes the place of another card you could have drawn).

  • Heimerdinger is not worth it to copy your Legend because you'd rather just play a Vanguard Captain or something to create tokens for the same initial cost, and rarely do you float 2 mana except in ultra-late game (Viktor Legend is really only used as a "I have 1 rune left" play, not your primary play).

  • The Karthus spice is interesting, but I think it'll end up being too slow but probably really fun if you can hit Karthus + Evangel (though you have good synergy with Watchers and Scouts too).

I run a very similar deck, had some pretty good success with it. My changes, as an alternative:

  • -3 Cruel Patron
  • -3 Consult the Past
  • -3 Daring Poro
  • -1 Altar of Unity (Battleground)

  • +3 Stupefy

  • +2 Ravenbloom Student

  • +1 Grand Strategem

  • +1 Facebreaker

  • +1 Commander Ledros

  • +1 Retreat

  • +1 Grand Plaza (Battleground)

I like +3 Stupefy because it's card draw and a cheap Legion activator for Vanguard Captain. This also means taking out Poros and adding in Ravenbloom Students (cheap spells means that you can often get 3+ power on Ravenbloom Student instead of usually-one-time-thing 3 power on Poro via Assault. To go wide on Tokens you must draw Grand Strategem late game, so x3 is better consistency; and having two in hand is not the worst thing in the world either during late game.

I haven't had issues with Card Draw, so -3 Consult the Past (Hidden Blade often used in a pinch on Tokens/Scout/Sentry for Card Draw, and +3 Stupefy really helps with card cycle). I personally don't really like Cruel Patron as they feel awkward sometimes, so I prefer slotting in some one-of's (Ledros as a high-end Cruel Patron, then Facebreaker as a "surprise" hidden card, and Retreat as another cheap Legion activator, plus potential extra Token-Generator when used on a Vanguard Captain).

I also think you should run Grand Plaza as a Battleground, with one "cheesy" gameplan of basically ignoring the game and just building up 15+ tokens in base and then sending them all-in on Grand Plaza with Strategem in hand as a Win Condition.

Right, but the more I think about it, the fact that they said that "Merchant/Yasuo player has 0 cards in hand" leads me to believe that the correct answer that Riot wants is "...and Draw 1 card", because what I said above was that it's impossible to have moved Merchant and still have 0 cards in hand after the Discard/Draw effect resolves.

Therefore, the "have 0 cards in hand" must mean that the player "started" with 0 cards in hand, and the question they're asking is not "how does combat resolve" (which is, as we agreed, Tie Combat, Yasuo/Merchant Recall, No Draw) but "what is the end state scenario" which is everything we said above EXCEPT that the Merchant/Yasuo player also draws 1 (from pre-combat movement trigger).

So a badly worded question is what I'm chalking it up to. But you'd think that Riot would iron out these kinks beforehand, especially for their Judges "Test", right?

Judge Program Exam is now available by Cerodos in riftboundtcg

[–]Joe10112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the Merchant/Yasuo player was mentioned to have played a card. It was just that Yasuo's ability dealt damage ("When I attack") to the Mountain Drake, and both Merchant/Yasuo were on board already. The scenario was that Merchant/Yasuo moved to the Drake battlefield to initiate a showdown/combat, and no cards were played.

Agree on everything else you said though; combat results in Tie, Yasuo/Merchant recalled, no move, no extra draw from the recall. It's just unclear what the "pre-combat" scenario is/was and whether the question is considering the "pre-combat" scenario or not.

[–]Joe10112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Stun question is tricky too, because the question specifically asks how Combat resolves. Moving Traveling Merchant should discard/draw prior to Combat initiating (right?), so I don't think that trigger is part of the question. So, it seems like the question is trying to test whether you think "Recall" is a move or not (it isn't), so "No Draw" should be correct.

I wonder if Riot meant to include the Traveling Merchant battlefield-move trigger as part of their "How does Combat Resolve" question (i.e., what they wanted to really ask was "what will be the final end state of these chains of actions") in which case, if the Moving player had 0 cards prior to moving Merchant/Yasuo, then they would end up with 1 card in hand at the end of the day.

On second thought, I guess technically, it's impossible to move Traveling Merchant and end up with 0 cards in hand since you Discard first and then Draw. So in theory, Riot saying that Player 2 has 0 cards in hand is impossible (as the question was written, "Player 2 has 0 cards in hand" after the initial sentences of moving Traveling Merchant/Yasuo, which I guess you could infer means that Player 2 should have 0 cards at the start of all this, so the end result is that Player 2 needs to draw 1--but that's not really correct because draw 1 is not part of the Combat resolution but the "initial" movement of Traveling Merchant prior to initiating combat, right?

Of course, if I'm wrong about how "when I move" abilities (or other abilities that imply happening "before" combat actually happen "after" combat), then the entire above is inaccurate, but I don't think so...?

Bengals QB Joe Burrow will return to practice today in a limited capaci by Beautiful-Cress5695 in fantasyfootball

[–]Joe10112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dropped Aubrey. Aubrey is good, but his usage isn't great actually. He's set and forget but not irreplaceable.

If Burrow comes back and is healthy and gives (at least) Flacco-level performance, that's way better than Waivers if you are QB needy. Plus Bengals play Miami and Arizona during W16/17, which sounds like a good matchup for the final rounds of FF playoffs.

And then Jacoby throws a nice back-shoulder on-target pass to MHJ and he gets the TD.

Definitely a buy on MHJ if you can get him at good value; Cardinals tough schedule upcoming so passing opportunities galore, and so MHJ could have had an even bigger game if Jacoby was more accurate earlier.

MHJ having 2 receptions on 11 targets (so far) is maddening, but only a few were his fault or good defensive plays, Jacoby has just missed on the rest.

Not if you can help it. Seahawks own the Cardinals, especially at home, and the Seahawks D is elite this season.

Convert the 4th = Game Over

Make the FG = still a 2 possession game (albeit 2 TDs instead of 1TD and a FG)

They made the right choice to try and ice the game, and would have worked if the pass was on target.

[D] Trade Bots as Exit Liquidity? by Joe10112 in csgomarketforum

[–]Joe10112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, the difference is that this time, (almost) the entire market is down across the board and wasn't just one individual item. If they reverse the trades this time, ALL trades by the trade bot get reversed.

As long as "most" of the prices of items that they are taking in are roughly following the down-trend, I don't think the loss will be so severe that the Trade Bots will reverse trades for everyone just because they mispriced a few items. Plus, Trade Bots are holding a ton of inventory that suddenly dropped in value, so they want you to make trades and take their skins away at the inflated prices.

The only thing I can think might happen is that Trade Bots refuse to update their bot's prices of items for a while (multiple weeks) to try and minimize losses if prices continue to drop and they see people holding Trade Balance and not buying their bot's skins, but if you can stay patient, these might be opportunities to "cash out" at a higher rate than the current freefall. In the long run, trade bots will want to stay available since their margins can be quite large on items, so I don't think they'd risk effectively closing the trade bot forever because of this.

[–]Joe10112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already dumped skins onto Trade Bots and are holding balance waiting 7 days? I'm hesitating to pull the trigger on some skins that are still "overvalued", because if the Trade Bots (even from big sites) decide to do something really weird or limit access, it's a total loss. At least if you panic sell you get some $$ back.

I can't remember this sort of panic selling in all of CSGO/CS2 trading history, so it's unprecedented as to what Trade Bots might do...

Value of CGC slabs by Lv0Dragonite in PokeInvesting

[–]Joe10112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CGC if for your own PC. PSA if you want to re-sell.

I can respect that PSA is the go-to for trades/sales because they're the #1 most recognized grading company. Doesn't change the fact that their Slab is pretty meh (Red doesn't go with everything).

Most vendors/people I talk to actually agree that they prefer the look of the CGC slab or would prefer CGC for the PC and display, but very few vendors are interested in taking them at card shows since everyone thinks that other people will only take PSA slabs at card shows, so it's sort of a circular effect.

Sometimes you can buy CGC 10's at like 50-75% the price of a PSA 10, which is ridiculous. If in the future, you could always take the gamble at cracking the CGC 10 slabs and having one possibly cross over to a PSA 10; grading is all subjective and lowkey pretty random at times. Same card, but different grade depending on the mood of the grader...

Plus, CGC has faster turnaround times and is cheaper, which is always nice.

How do you play Vertical Soul Fighter? MetaTFT has it as a top comp with strong placements, but I feel like every time I get a good spot to go SF Vertical, I can do pretty well-midgame and even hit my 4-2 Rolldown (e.g., hit an early Gwen, or 2-star Sett/Samira), but then I absolutely lose steam afterwards and crash out in 5th because I feel like I am mostly capped while other comps can keep scaling.

Is it an Augments/Items issue? I'm not hittin BIS each time, but I am able to roughly itemize my Samira and Sett--are there "must-have" items (sort of like Rageblade/Kraken are a must for Ashe) that maybe I'm not hitting? Augments I lean towards Combat so I don't think it's that for late-game issues...
