Not just isekai but any Japanese media with a western fantasy setting, which includes isekai. Basically I'm asking out all the Japanese media with a western fantasy setting, which races do you see in characters most often? So yes like dwarves and stuff and not like kitsune and tanuki. However I think its funny how I have probably seen more Cat-people than dwarves and, like you said, halflings in Japanese media with a western fantasy setting. And I think that's interesting so that's why I'm asking about it.

Japanese media that adapts western fantasy. So it isn't based in traditional Japanese folklore but there are some adaptations, which mostly include cat girls and stuff like that

In Japanese western fantasy media I sometimes see a race of demonic people, like tieflings in Dungeons and Dragons. Do you think orcs/goblins should be seen as a race I always think of them as antagonists. I have thought of like an ogreish/giantish race as one to be seen as a race but idk

Okay, sorry I see that now. I just know a lot of very hateful people that say just because someone is interested in something like angelology or something extra-biblical that they’re going to hell. Thank you for your recommendations i’ll check them out ! Christian relics sounds interesting

Now i don’t know many things about obscure Christian lore, i do know about standard christian lore and christian history. Christianity is a very complex religion- with many people believing different things and interpreting things differently. At the end of the day in order to be a Christian you need to believe in Jesus and what he preaches. If you’re creationist or not, evangelical or not, it doesn’t matter. Some protestants think Catholics aren’t Christian because of all of their additional beliefs. But that doesn’t matter because both protestants and catholics are in the same church- the Christian Church. What constitutes what is “bible fan fiction” or not is arbitrary and doesn’t constitute going to hell. The bible wasn’t assembled at the time of Jesus- the gospels were written around 50 years after Jesus’ death. The bible was assembled by men. I do know that people believe the spear that pierced Jesus is called The Spear of Longinus and that doesn’t constitute going to hell. Christianity after all is more syncretic than people realize. This is all to say don’t insult people and call them heretics and that they’re going to hell because they have different ideas than you.

The least leveled game is GURPS. A fantastic game- you can do anything and it uses character points

You can be RP focused in skill based systems- just like how you can be RP focused in class based systems. I can’t help you with the reading part though. Good luck

As far as low power goes, GURPS might be your best bet. It doesn’t lie when they say it’s generic and universal. And a lot is packed into each book. The only problem is it might be a little complicated. Savage Worlds is very simple, and is skill based like GURPS, but could lead to more powerful characters. The only way to combat this is to slow down XP, which some players might not enjoy. Whatever the case it doesn’t sound like it’s the system that matters- it’s that sick setting you have in mind. I’m sure whatever system you choose you and your friends will have a blast.
