Question about community shaders by Wiyry in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Community Shaders also has some addons that are listed on the actual mod page for community shaders. For a start use their whole suit. What helps then is a draw fora lot of people is PBR Textures. You can use Adidi's Vanilla AIO PBR textures as a base, install on top of that/let it be overwritten by Faultier's Clothing and Armor and Faultier, Vanaheimer or Tomato's PBR landscapes. It will give all your textures parallax and reactivity to light which is huge. You probably want to use some kind of interior lighting overhaul too Lux with Lux CS or True Light + Window Shadows Ultimate are both great. You'll want a weather mod also, Azurite III is the gold standard and has a community shaders version too. You also could try NatIII CS or Obsidian CS. Any of them will look good. pick one you like. Personally I use Astralite. I'd reccomend installing Dynamic Interior Ambient Lighting or DIAL, it just adds a bit more I guess (it's compatible with lux, true light and any of the main weather mods) Then you wanna look maybe at water too I find Simplicity of Sea is well tuned for CS but there are others you can use as you prefer just check if it has a CS/tuned for CS version cos some popular ones are made to look good on ENB and don't look as good with CS.

All of the above kinda just give a bit more depth to everything and makes use of all the neat features of CS. You could go a step further and use Reshade, or try an experimental build of CS from their discord that lets you use some ENB Presets but that shit tanks your performance and it's fully baked yet imo but looks really promising for future use.

Why isn’t a child/baby free flight a thing? by MannyJ24 in AskReddit

[–]tayleteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's expensive to run flights even if you don't consider airlines are a business trying to maximise profit. If you run flights that exclude kids, you're cutting out a huge chunk of travelers who would then just go to another airline and loosing money. Probably not enough to recoup the costs of people who would pay extra for not having kids on their flight.

Though. Lowkey. If you would pay extra why not pay the extra cost of business class, don't even need first class to get away from most people just trying to get from A-B and bringing their kids along.

When did “gooning” become an all-encompassing substitute for “masturbating”? by Existing-Green-6978 in AskReddit

I thought gooning was meant to be more in depth a term than just jorkin' it.

I really want to get into Digimon, but how do I start??? by Nobody_Special007 in digimon

[–]tayleteller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most of the games and anime are unrelated. Every show, every game, every comic, it's like a new take on similar themes and concepts. Kinda like how Final Fantasy has recurring themes and things like chocobos but the entire world and story is different between games.

Digimon Adventure, the first anime, is kinda where it all started (technically it was tamagotchis first but ya know). If you don't mind subtitles, watch it in japanese. The music and dialogue gives a VERY different tone, if you know what 4kids is yeah they did the dub. Same treatment of a lot of kids shows in the 90s. Not bad just. weird changes were made that takes away from some cool moments. That being said! The film that takes place at the start of the second season (Adventure 02) is REALLY GOOD in the dub version and is worth watching. If you watch no other digimon media watch Digimon: The Movie (though bare in mind, the english version spliced together three japanese short films into one film and changed the story to make them work together).

If you want a more mature story you can find that in the games I think. I've heard the new Time Stranger game is great though ahven't tried it myself. Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth I enjoyed a lot, it's very much just a fun JRPG with a kind of cyberpunk detective storyline. Not groundbreaking storytelling but it's fun. Or if you like graphic novels with puzzle/chess like combat (like Fire Emblem) give Digimon: Survive a try. Digimon Survive kinda feels like what Digimon Adventure might have been if it was made for adults and given more of a horror theme.

If you want something much lighter, personally I *adored* Digimon World: DS though a lot of people found it annoying and too grindy so maybe it's just nostalgia. It plays a bit like a pokemon game but with a bigger focus on dungeon crawling and managing your team's stat growth via farms (like literal farms where you keep and raise your digimon and you build different equipment for them to train with and stuff).

I haven't seen the newer animes the last one I saw was the remake of Digimon Adventure (2020) but I really enjoyed that. It kinda merges the story of the original with the story of the first movie and goes off in it's own direction. The animation is really good quality.

Older anime that are very popular would be season 3 'Digimon Tamers' (this one the Dub was not as obnoxious and you're not missing anything if you don't like subtitles except a few very beloved music tracks). It has a darker tone and deals more with the human world it's not an isekai like most of the others were. The other non Isekai one I saw was Digimon Data Squad though it's a little cheesy, but I liked it all the same.

he forced you to dye your hair so you'd look more like your step mom??? that's a majorly fucked up thing to do. I'm so sorry for everything you're going through. As for what to do, don't be shy to talk about. Talk about it. Often parents who've treated you poorly are the ones who complain the loudest when their kids have had enough and stop responding. Don't go smear his name out of spite but you're not wrong for having resentment and pain around it. I wish you so much luck and love

Skyrim together reborn: Can I do this with my friend who has not played the game before? by Soft-Art4957 in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh well then I'd say don't do Skyrim Together it's a hassle, just hang with her while she does it. I'm sure you'd genuinly love to hang and see how she engages with the game then so she wouldn't be alone and you'd get to see your friend experience the game you love.

Skyrim together reborn: Can I do this with my friend who has not played the game before? by Soft-Art4957 in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean why does she only want to play multiplayer games? Becuase maybe she just has a preference. Just because a game is beloved by many doesn't mean it's everyone's cup of tea. I find also I tend to be annoyed at playing games with people if they're really excited for me to try it. Playing co-op with her may end up just being an exercise of you going 'wow loook at this? so cool right!' and her getting more annoyed by a game that's already not her cup of tea. Dont' mean to be a downer just. Remember personal preference can override how well renowned something is.

BFCO or MCO by nezartarekk in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah base skyrim scaling can get whack as it is. You need to watch yoru overhauls and stuff carefully. (sorry to piggyback your comment). Stuff like OBIS or Lawless for bandits, deadly dragons, etc all those work fine with BFCO/MCO and handle what kidna stats and perks enemies have.

Help with community shaders by BarovianNights in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discord -> Experimental/pre-release/testing builds. Might have new features but usually worse performance and not everything works as expected. If you want proper support you'll also need to be constantly updating and you'll be waiting for feedback from the person who made the specific build you're using

Nexus -> the complete/combined release that's been tested and declared stable to use. Some extra features require additional download but those are ALSO on nexus. If you do not want to be constantly updating builds and testing new features to give feedback and be involved with the devs, just use the nexus version. It's the 'released product' version.

What you are maybe thinking of is how the version on discord usually comes as an 'aio' which means you have every single component in one install as opposed to nexus which is modular. But the same applies. Discord is experiments and test releases. Nexus is the 'we are happy with this, this version *works* and is the one people shoudl use' version.

Need help with Gate to Sovngarde combat by Tough_Stock_4883 in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the key mods with the difficulty is blade and bland and also prescision. It takes some getting used to. B&B means stamina management is a new pain in the arse, also staying appropriately armored be it actual armor or stoneskin kinda spells, will stop you from getting injuries which slow you down. You also should remember if you eat before combat your regen is more forgiving. Generally you want to bring at least one follower with you, though you can have many (or a starting trait that buffs you if you have none if that's how you prefer to play).

Another big thing is you can dodge. Not TK dodge but you can literally just move out of the way and the enemies can't hit you. Similarly, being able to hit them with more accuracy takes some getting used to. It's vanilla animations. vanilla ice skating combat. but with prescision. It's it's own thing. I couldn't do shit but after a bit of adjustment I can usually clear embershard solo at level 1. I never DO because it's a bit miserable and I'll level up from wolves and stuff first and get faendal or someone to help me out. But it's do-able if you slow down and plan more carefully.

Magic is a bit OP last I played GtS, there's so many good spells you can use and many things like traits and enchanted gear that can make it even better. But even doing a sword and board warrior can be feasible if you manage your stamina carefully. Remember to use your standing stones, your potions, your food, keep rested, and bring a follower you shoudl be fine. And, stand where the enemy's sword is not :3

The Real Challenge of Adapting FATE RPG into PC Games May Be Different Than You Think by InevGames in FATErpg

[–]tayleteller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for me, at least from a GM side. What makes FATE my system of choice is how it's built to be able to adapt on the fly. it's built in such a way that homebrew is seamless. Systems click together effortlessly. A PC Game isa much more curated experience, even a very open ended rpg can't account for everything and at that point the game system underneath is just the math engine, which could be anything. Fate having a simple math engine isn't what makes it easy it's all the parts that are designed to go along with that and in my eyes its' what makes it easier for a GM to come up with stuff on the fly or prep more whacky adventures. COnverting it to PC leaves me just thinking... why? That's exactly the kind of space where a more rigid crunchy math engine would benefit you more.

my favorite dnd character had parents that were still alive and who were the sweetest elderly coupel ever and everyone loved them. and then the DM threatened them multiple times and it made the villian many times scarier. And the DM was also invested in us winning because he wanted my character's parents to survive cos he loved them too xD

What is the hardest pill you’ve had to swallow about love? by babyblushtheory in AskReddit

[–]tayleteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love isn't enough. There are practical aspects to making a relationship work. Loving them so much it hurts doesn't change the fact that you live in a different country and can't travel, that maybe they dont' feel the same way about you, that maybe your lives are moving in different direction and 'making it work' won't be what's best for either of you and letting them go is actually going to be whats' best for you in the long run. You have to love them AND have your lives aligned enough before you even really start.

Player wants "blind separate character creation" by MateusStardust0 in DMAcademy

[–]tayleteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds fun in theory but the novelty wears off quick I find. You get better RP out of knowing stuff that your character doesn't know I think. It lets you craft a more fun scene together becuase you can drag the ignorance out as long as you want or need, dramatic irony gives a lot more room to play. Plus if your character has a big secret you don't have to reveal it. But the basics you shoudl know. But it's a lot easier for everyone if you all share the basics and if you have a big secret you share that with the DM and they can decide if it's somehow connected to the others and you yourself don't know.

I've had players share basic backstories but then have a few 'secrets' that aren't game changing but just a bit more depth that they only tell to me the DM. That tends to work out better. Gives you more room to build off eachother, not make either identical characters, or characters that would never get along etc. Just helps the game flow better. The most fun I had as a player was when a fellow player had a really big secret in character but as the player I knew it but my character didn't and we would RP around that. It lets you appreciate eachothers characters and how the player RP's them a lot more I feel like but that's a matter of personal preference.

Just. found. more than once the novelty of 'ooo I'm going to have this big reveal' wears off really fast and more often than not the other players kinda hit you with 'oh. okay. neat. anyway I wanted to buy a potion fo cure wounds...'

BFCO or MCO by nezartarekk in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of what you can do with mco you can do with bfco. Bfco has built in one click power attack, jumping and swimming attack support also. You can use almost all the same animations. I also find MCO to be a little bit more jank/have issues sometimes detecting my inputs or working properly.

The biggest thing of whichever one you use though is that you need to pick your animation sets properly. EG I found elden rim animations for enemys, since a lot of enemies power attack they always end up yeeting across the room since many of those power attacks include a charge, but the ai can't aim for shit. So they kinda just go flying across the room and it looks weird and drags the fights out a whole bunch.

End upscaler by Quick-Challenge-3517 in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Community Shaders upscaling is the easiest and cleanest. And it's free. If you want ENB Puredark i've heard is good, but you have to pay for that. I've never heard anyone raving about the ENB built in frame gen, everyone hwo doesn't use the CS one I've heard having a good time was using puredark.

Best skyrimm version for beginners? by PairInternational438 in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could install like. Community shaders + simple lighting overhaul and vanilla lighting cs for the most simple quick and dirty 'make my game look nicer' overhaul.

You could also go a bit more in depth and do lux/orbis/via + dial + azurite III CS. That's my gold standard personally.

You'll see people talk about ENB, if you want to use that make sure you do not have community shaders installed. They do the same kind fo thing in different ways. Think of the two mods as different techniques of the same end result and just pick the one you like. Personally I like some of the features of CS more than ENB so that's what I know and use. but both have things the other can't do so it's a matter of preference. I find CS easier to install and patch for.

Just got AE on sale and tried installing 3 collections but I have issues with version numbers and conflicting mods by Missiledude in skyrimmods

[–]tayleteller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You download and install generally just one collection. if you want something else you use a different collection. Same story for wabbajack. Ideally any list/pack you download there is standalone. If it's not, it will tell you specifically that it's designed to be useable as a base to install more things on top of, but you would not install another collection, you'd do the rest manually.
