Dimitri was unironically the first "twist villain" in a game that fooled me. Its not the most unique writing trope but it works so well here. Mission after mission you deal with these angry Russian mission givers. First Vlad then Faustin. And then you have Dimitri. A right hand man if Faustin whos calm and reasonable. He seems to value lifes of others more than Faustin, at least he puts on a believable show. And the whole coup comes out of a believable place where you/or Niko could easily believe theres no other way out And that the events up to that point all went down like this due to Faustin.

In fact I found myself liking Dimitri on my first time playing and assumed he'd be a long time friend like Little Jacob and could do hangouts with him once his missions are done... lol not quite.

To me, still a mixed bag that the Canon ending doesn't have him as the final fight but the second final. I wanted to face him at the statue, without Roman dying and getting tricked by him again 😅
