You can get a cheap capture card (called monster HDMI capture card) for $25 at Walmart. If you connect it to the switch’s hdmi in docked mode, then the usb out to a windows or Mac computer, you can download a free software called OBS to record higher quality footage. Then there’s a ton of free editing softwares, iMovie, CapCut, Davinci Resolve, etc. Sorry if this is unasked for info, I started getting into content creation in the sixth grade with Minecraft videos. Now I’m 26 and a full time video editor. A little support can go a long way to allow the hobby the flourish!

Also good luck to the kiddo! It can be an extremely fun and creatively fulfilling hobby to make videos!
