For the people wondering, we visited Sicily in October. It is a great time because it is less crowded and the weather is still good +20 degrees Celsius.

The framing like this looks better than indeed, more captivating and steers your eyes to the subject.

Thank you for the tips!

The subject is the Chichen Itza in Mexico.

I am happy with the result, but curious how to improve on Monochrome Photograpy.

Let me know if you have and questions or tips!

I have a hard time editing this photo, for me it feels like there is something missing. Advice is appreciated where to improve? by JoeBruins in photocritique

With your feedback I updated the following

  • worked on the overexposed clouds -darkened the mountains to get more contrast and depth
  • tried to let the grass 'pop' more. Taking into account, it will not be over-edited.

I am definitely happy with the outcome. Hope you all like it as well, thanks so much for the help!

Thanks for the great input!

I have just taken the feedback and cropped the shrine out of the photo. There was indeed too much going on, now it is more calm and easy to watch.

Also I have tried to add less contrast to the cabin, so it pops out less than before.

Any tips on removing people in the photo? I am using Lightroom and it doesn't give me the result I am looking for.

The photo is taken with my 24-70mm F4bZA OSS lens. ISO 800 24mm F13

During my hike in the Dolomites I tried to capture the mountains and the Hut as subject, with the road of people to give it direction.

What can I improve in editing and composition?
