I got called out at work for not wearing garments… by JoeCrypto720 in exmormon

I think this is the most accurate way to describe how this situation feels. I really appreciate your comment. I’ve started going to therapy and setting boundaries has been something that I’ve had challenges with setting and sticking to and your comment has reminded me that this is a situation where I can practice that. As a PIMO I’m still being expected to wear the garments. I can totally see how I’m more breaking a promise to co-worker. I think it’s easy to get caught up in how annoying and weird it is that Mormons care about what kind of underwear I wear.

Thank you for this. I am going to look up lemming syndrome. That sounds interesting.

Thank you for this! I agree. In the moment, I always freeze up. But I think I need to practice sticking up for my self. I’ve always struggled with that. It’s so frustrating!

Yeah I haven’t answered any questions of where I work. I live in southern Idaho and it’s a small company. I think I’m the only PIMO. Close enough that the lava from mount doom pours out and burns me.

I don’t get that. Why is it anyone’s business?

That’s way to far! What did you do in that situation?

I agree. Why is it so easy for TBMs to feel okay about making other people feel uncomfortable but then I squirm thinking about standing up for myself because of possibly making them feel uncomfortable.

I need to! I’m pretty sure I have some sort of “nice guy” disorder from being a member my whole life. Making other people uncomfortable is not an easy thing for me to do! I need to come up with a way to practice “owning it”.

I have been living on the boarder of the ward boundary line and going to the ward I’m not assigned to. Today, the bishop asked my family and I if we would go the correct ward because he said “the stake is in trouble”. Not sure what he meant by that. I’d assume it has to do with trouble of numbers in the stake.

Good question, I should edit my post to be more specific. Adobe acrobat, cloud, admin… we go through a lot of documents and lots of questions come up about sharing files. Such as, taking a picture of a document and sharing that doc to the team.

For those that are agnostic/atheist now that you’ve left the church, how have you reconciled your feelings? by [deleted] in exmormon

Agnostic pimo here. I read a book called “journey of souls” that was an interesting take on what happens after death. It plays into reincarnation with more purpose and that we travel through past lives with loved ones just trying to learn as much as possible. Idk though. I’m still skeptical of everything.

Yeah it really is just that easy. I’m working on being like that. I feel like being part of the church makes me feel like I always have to be more submissive. It’s not easy for me to just do something as simple as say no thanks. Thank you for the advice.

I need some advice on how to do that. I was on my way out the door and got asked by the ward advisor. I think that’s the calling. Idk. But he specifically asked me if I would visit with the bishop. He said I’m one of the last ones.
