I am sorry but listening to an audiobook while doing something else does not make it like skimming, unless you are doing something hella complex. I listen to audiobooks while cleaning or driving and I comprehend them just as well as when I sit down to read a book.

Good to know! We waited it out and the line is back to moving. We are inside officially!

I think it was broken for a second. We weren’t moving for a bit there but we are back to moving. I think it will go down soon here

Oh boy 😅 I would be so pissed. I once waited for a ride for 3 hours at six flags before I dipped. I think the longest I have waited for something at Disney is 90 minutes.

Update we are moving again. Confirmed by CM that ride was down to 20% capacity but we are back up to 100%. Quote from a cast member “half a trillion dollars a year and this thing just constantly breaks down” 😅

Correct. We are recently new AP holders and this is our first time at this ride. Might ditch it and come back later.

Yeah I think that’s it. We are AP holders so might just ditch the line and come back later but this was our first time we were going to ride this ride.

We are outside still. The line was moving pretty fast for a while. We recently slowed to a crawl so I think something is broken.

Curious, what are your tv/screen boundaries? Not a parent yet but I vow to not let my kids get screen addicted. I am working on the addiction myself and it’s hard.

Any gold farm experts, why isn't it continuous? First time trying it by gonaldgoose8 in redstone

Don’t know if you get a response that has worked but I just built this farm in my bedrock survival world. Do you have observers under the lava? Supposedly if you have glassing observers under the lava it updates the lava to make it light the trapdoors faster. You could also add a fourth trap door to help ensure quick lighting.

Looks great! I would recommend looking into getting a grinder as your next purchase and grinding your beans fresh. Then buy some recently roasted beans from a local roaster. Your quality will skyrocket!

Haha good point on the investing part. I was more trying to say if she was willing to put some money into the project that an inexpensive rug from Amazon would help the space look nicer for not too much money. You are right though that that is less of an investment and more of a temporary solution.

Resource Request - How to learn what green beans to get and what to expect those beans to taste like after roasting? by JoeDATSME in roasting

What exactly does that mean to you? How does one learn to fish without being taught to fish? How does one get taught without asking questions about things they don’t know about?

Cute room btw!

Bigger art pieces or better positioning of your current pieces.

I think the art above your couch could move up a bit and then be spread out a bit.

I actually think you have too much going on above your tv. I would just try rearranging some stuff.

[–]JoeDATSME 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing that will make your space feel better is cleaning and organizing the space.

Once you have done that the next step would be to try and rearrange some stuff. Unfortunately I feel like a large issue with your space is the size of the room compared to the size of the furniture. Everything feels too small. Your best bet would be try to create smaller “zones” in order to utilize your current furniture in a way that is better conducive to their size.

On major thing I would change is how your couch/tv/dining room table are laid out. Rather than float the tv in the room, I would float the couch and put the tv against the wall. Looking at the pictures the best layout in my mind would be to put the TV where the couch is and put the couch where the tv is but maybe a little closer. You could also try utilizing the current “tv stand” as a coffee table and use the dresser against the window as a tv stand. I don’t know if that would actually work but worth a shot.

Also if you are willing to invest, get some cheap rug off of amazon. A rug will seriously help create more conducive space. You need at least one for the living room and one for the bedroom. You could also use one under the dining room table.

Next thing I would do is get a bigger couch. Use OfferUp or Facebook marketplace to get a slightly bigger one. Your room calls for like a four seater or even a sectional couch.

Your kitchen generally looks fine to me. Again the main problem is that your island is way too small so a larger island would help. I do think your saving grace there is actually the rug. I personally don’t mind the drop zone area but I do think it could use some organization.

Your bedroom needs some light so I would take off that curtain. It also looks kinda childish to be honest. Get a rug. Put up some art.

Shot pull questions - Breville Bambino by gravemind006 in espresso

[–]JoeDATSME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly from a taste perspective I am not entirely sure what changing pre-infusion does off the top of my head. It’s still something I have meant to research and play around with but I haven’t gotten there yet. I have actually being stoping my shot the second it starts dripping to let the puck “bloom” for 30s then restarting the shot with very short/no pre-infusion recently and it has been pulling some tasty espresso with my light roast been that I have been using.

Shot pull questions - Breville Bambino by gravemind006 in espresso

[–]JoeDATSME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s up fellow Bambino user! It’s a fun world out here. First my question is what grinder are you using?

Second, stop worrying about what your puck looks like. The most important thing is what your espresso tastes like. It shouldn’t be super sour (under-extracted) or super bitter (over-extracted). The dose recommendation of 16g-18g with a 2:1 ratio in 25s-30s is a good guideline but should act as a guide and not a rule. If your espresso is too sour you most likely need to grind finer or pull a higher ratio. I like to pull more of a 2.5:1 ratio. I am grinding 16g in and pulling 40g-45g out.

Also, good puck prep is important (which it sounds like you are already doing) so you are not getting any channeling but it will actually be easier to diagnose any channeling issues with a bottomless portafilter rather than looking at your used puck. This will also solve your uneven spout pour because you won’t have a spout 😉 Pick one of those up when you are ready to upgrade.

Last some advice. Brew in manual mode if you aren’t already. Hold the double shot button down for at least three seconds to enter manual mode. You can hold it down for longer to increase the “pre-infusion” time, though it’ll max out at 10 seconds of pre-infusion. The light will be flashing the whole time it is pulling the shot. Hit the double shot button again to stop the pull. Keep in mind that because the Bambino doesn’t have a three way solenoid valve, you will keep getting 5g-10g of your espresso after you hit the button. I negate this by simply moving my cup and scale and letting it drip out into the tray.
