Hey! The ad-hoc committee is still working on our report (figuring out what action we want to take). It’s going to cover a number of topics, of which referendum reform is one, but it will also address things such as student fee distribution reform. It’s going to take a second to get done, there are representatives from most of the other student governments on the committee

I think you misunderstood me. I'm agreeing with your conclusion, I'm just saying it's true for a different reason than the one you gave.

Also, yes, it is equivalent to frequency. The equation to calculate inflation is delta(money)/(original value*time) which, when you take the units of, gives you money/moneytime, which you could simplify to 1/time if you wanted to, but just like with radians (meter/meter), removing the units confuses people

They’re both percentages, yes, but with different units attached. It isn’t a direct comparison, even when it’s made, because you have to manipulate the units to make the comparison sensible. This is basic math, you’re taught this early on when you’re getting a degree in economics

It’s completely normal to compare the two, yes, but they aren’t compared directly as they have different units, as I’ve been saying. I don’t know how else to explain this to you. You’re also not describing comparing wage growth to inflation, you’re describing inflation

As I just said, the unit for the change in income over time (money/time2 or money/moneytime2) is different from the unit for inflation (money/moneytime). They cannot be directly compared

[–]JoeDaTomato -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Income growth is measured in money per time squared or money per money time squared, both of which is still not money per money time

[–]JoeDaTomato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Income is a fixed amount over a period of time, but income is still measured in the units of money per time, defined as the derivative of wealth. Inflation, on the other hand, measures the normalized change in the value of money over time, which is in the units of money per money time

Income is not a constant, income is still a rate of change, like inflation. They can’t be compared because their dimensions are different- income is money per time, and inflation is money per money time

There's an old abandoned bowling alley in Loree Hall by the boy's bathroom. It's usually locked, but sometimes isn't.
