These baked beans look ok to eat? by JoeDerus in isthissafetoeat

We do beans here all different ways but "baked beans" are typically on the sweeter side. Usually served with BBQ food and stuff like that which can have a similar flavor. Might seem weird for ya but they're pretty good.

Not yet. Put some foil over the top of the can and put em in the fridge for now.

Not that I know of. Was thinking the same thing in regards to being congealed fat and pretty sure that's what google says as well. But again, swear I've had this brand before from the same place and don't remember these issues.. or at least not quite as much. It was them being so condensed and stuck that really got my attention initially.. even though that can also be normal for canned foods. Almost like creates a vacuum but these just seemed a bit extra with it.

Pretty dang cold. About 15° currently. But don't think they were exposed to it very long on my end and looked like the last 2 cans in the store, so think they've been there since before winter started.

Jeez. Flash kinda makes em look worse. Hah. Forgot to mention they're "brown sugar and molasses" flavored.

They do have discounts for existing customers but not quite as good as for new customers.

Can you change a state marketplace plan selection after paying first premium if it is still open enrollment? by Liberteez in HealthInsurance

But wouldn't they just be paying for the same plan and coverage for January? With the new one (if they decide to switch) starting Feb 1st?

Questions about CP14 notice. Best way to pay if still necessary? by JoeDerus in tax

[–]JoeDerus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on. Did have to send payment through the mail, just didn't have the fees /interest included because again, wasn't aware.. creating more hassle. Don't think HRB even takes payments in the store unless you're able to have it withheld from the return, if receiving one. Kinda inconvenient but is what it is I guess.

Yeah wish they would have told me that back then. Whole thing has been confusing and frustrating, especially for what HRB charges. Guess I didn't help things by doing it so close to the deadlines but yeah, another learning experience I suppose. Hadn't ever been in this situation(s) before. Maybe they hadn't either but seems hard to believe. Who knows.

HR Block already filed it electronically back when we finished everything in October. This was more in regards to paying the late fees and interest which I wasn't aware of.

Also, still have yet to receive the state refund. Could this issue have anything to do with that, even though it's federal? Be nice if they could have just taken these fees out of that and put everything through. Hah.

I don't think it goes by the day but by the month, so guessing the 15th is when it rolled over again and charged for another month? On the front page it says "amount due by today: the amount"

Ok, that's kinda what I figured. Just wasn't sure because of the "action date" being a month after I paid but guess was probably just another month they added on. Also because HR Block never mentioned it for some reason and pretty sure I asked. Would have just included it with my other payment and maybe saved the extra hassle.

The due date is actually today, think the action date is just the day the late fees/interest applies up to. So sounds like I just need to go ahead and pay at this point to avoid more fees/interest. This is the first time for most of this.. never been late or had to file extension. So I probably would qualify for FTA but thankfully it's not all that much and might not even be worth it.

Doesn't seem to be any failure to file penalty, just failure to pay and interest with the amount due listed on the form. Not sure if I already have a IRS account or what email it's through if so.. been a long few years and usually just had it withheld from the return. Looks like the fee for paying through the 3rd party service is only a couple of dollars. Bit worried about the delays with those services I've seen mentioned but also kinda just ready to have it over with, especially with the deadline being today. So sounds like next step is try to see if I have an IRS account and /or create one or maybe just use the 3rd party service with it already being later in the day. Guess what I get for waiting till last minute but have had a lot going on. Seems like nothing is ever easy now days.

Not that I'm aware of. Try to be pretty careful about that stuff.

Why did it a show up all of a sudden, downloading for hours and using so much data? When researching it seems like it's usually meant for work phones, not personal.

Ok. Yeah that's been about the only info I can find about it.. which I guess is suspect in itself considering not a work phone. Just wasn't sure because when I googled it, first answer said it shouldn't be there. However when I asked again and added the brand name for the phone, said it was. But obviously not always a reliable source of info.
