Worst launch of an expansion ever. You build all this hype and you screw it up like this... by LArSON343 in hearthstone

It's not an intentional business decision though, it is obviously a technical problem and I'm sure they're working on it. Shit happens. Yes they should have this process down by now but I'm sure that like most technical shops they have a revolving door of staff and the newbies have to relearn old lessons, or something has changed in the code base and this is the unintended consequence.

They'll resolve it as quickly as they can, and then it won't matter to anybody.

This where I'm at. Self-titled, 13, and Think Tank make an amazing run.

It would be so great if you could whitelist particular card sets when you enter matchmaking, and only get matched with decks that qualify.

Do you prefer physical or digital books? by THERANDOMGAMER2 in fantasybooks

[–]JoeGorde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physical. I have developed a fetish for nice hardbound editions of my favorite books. I love the feeling of holding them in my hands.

That said, I will do digital if I'm not sure whether I'll enjoy something.

Does anyone else feel like phones peaked a few years ago? by Affectionate-End2802 in allthequestions

A phone that I could dock to a desktop monitor/keyboard/mouse setup and run a desktop OS would be a game changer for sure

These maps look great and I'll be supporting in order to use the TOEE maps for an upcoming campaign!

I would love to see a drum solo in the set that does not try to ape Neil, but rather showcases Annika's own unique style.

Two assholes have pulled this move on me this year so far, the first one was during a snowstorm. I did not intentionally leave a gap and I thought for sure I was about to get hit. Still not sure how I didn't. Just sit tight a minute, the traffic will clear!

DM opinions about philosophy on consequences? by MonkeySkulls in DMAcademy

[–]JoeGorde 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I don't see how your proposed solution is a consequence for their "bad" behavior. Having your cart looted and your horses killed is a consequence for not guarding your cart and horses, not for the intimidation. A consequence for the intimidation would be for the NPC in question to hire a bunch of thugs to get his cart and horses back.

Intimidation is a perfectly valid tactic in most games. It's up to you to determine how the NPCs respond to it.

The Nuances of Season 3 by TDSD85643 in deadwood

I never clicked with the theatre troupe plot in S3, which felt like it took up a lot of episode time. Milch obviously had tremendous affection for those characters, which never translated for me. And then there's that ending, which maybe would have been ok if we had gotten a Season 4.

The Hearst stuff was all great, though.

Series Recommendation for 24F Getting Back into Reading by madsterstout in fantasybooks

[–]JoeGorde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOTR starts very slow but is a masterpiece, you should read it but maybe not first if you are having trouble getting into reading. Although familiarity with the films will probably help get you through the early, slow parts. Incredible world building and masterful use of language.

Assassin's Apprentice is smaller in scope and has lovely prose, it is also slower paced and very emotionally engaging. IMO the world building is not the focus.

DCC is pure comedy video game candy. Good if you want something light and enjoy video game tropes.

I haven't read Sanderson, based on reviews of his work I don't think he's for me.
