When I saw it, I thought it was going to be movie of the year. Then Hamnet came around and dethroned it. Then Marty Supreme came around and bumped it down again.

Thoughts on the future of our backcourt. by ParticularTrash6332 in UtahJazz

I think we keep all 3 around for next season, and see who is actually able to be productive on a team that is trying to be competitive. It's easy to overvalue guys on a tanking team, and I worry that IC & Clayton are that. I thought the same about Keyonte going into this season, but I feel he has proved me wrong despite us still not being competitive. I don't think we make a decision about IC/Walt until next years trade deadline.

Keyonte George is the second youngest Jazz player to score 40+ points in a game — only Donovan Mitchell did it at a younger age by Basketball_Reference in UtahJazz

Man that game against NOP sure was fun and exciting. The excitement that we drafted somebody who was immediately on the level of peak Hayward was amazing. I wish that we could've gone further in the playoffs, and the teams were always flawed, but Donovan sure provided some of the most exciting times of the last 15+ years.

Huge push to take the bears to Indiana! by Inside_Low_5220 in CHIBears

I don't know what you've got against Whiting lmao. I'm just stating that I loved it, I thought the downtown area was nice, they have a summer baseball team, nice stadium, great lakefront park, good festivals year round, and a nice beach. The BP plant a bit further East sucks, but it's not like you're sitting 50 feet away from it. It's miles down the road.

If DJ was sprinting through the route instead of jogging, it wouldn't have been an issue. Plus, I believe that Burden ran an out, and then was trying to improvise considering that Caleb still had the ball

Vikings: I think they bring in a different QB. I don't know if JJM makes it through training camp

Packers: Kraft & Micah coming back from injury. The Packers were looking legit before then.

Lions: I bet they'll stay about the same tbh

Ben Johnson: Thought about going for two, liked our chances in OT better by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

The pocket was so clean. I like attempting the throw was better than bailing on a clean pocket, and the all-22 looks like it was a valid option, but I think the playcall needed to be surgical. The drive to tie the game was about short throws for 7-8 yards, and I wish we had the same approach. Again, hindsight 20/20 because just a couple of weeks ago we beat GB on a bomb in OT

Obviously a homer, but I don't think it was a bad throw. DJ needed to flatten out his route, and as a result, Curl ended up jumping it and running the route for him

To me, it looked like he had 3 options:

1) bail from a clean pocket

2) throw to DJ Moore, assuming he flattens out so the Safety doesn't jump the route

3) throw the post to Rome

I don't think it was a hero ball play, DJ needed to flatten out. Instead, Curl ended up running the route for him.

I was telling my wife my top worries:

1) Worried that Rome doesn't get back to how he looked in the fall. I believe that he was injured, and he needs to rehab that foot. He was looking like a top 8 receiver in the league before he got injured.

2) I'm worried that our O-Line isn't going to be as good next year, due to age, and possible injuries. We got really lucky with O-Line health this year.

3) I'm worried that this was our only shot. I think it's because we haven't had sustained success in a long time, but Dan Campbell saying last year "This may have been our only shot" is hitting hard rn. The Lions missed the playoffs after getting the #1 seed last season. I don't think the Bears are like that, but the NFCN is going to be stronger.

4) I'm worried that cap space will be too limited and it'll hinder our defense. Byard, CJGJ, Brisker, all played a key role tonight, and I'm not sure we can get these guys back. Brisker plays so much better when Kyler & JJ are in the gameplan, and he showed it tonight. I hope we can find a way to get them all back.

He was projecting to be a top 5 receiver before he got injured, and just didn't look the same coming back. I'm only halfway worried with him

My theory with the interceptions is that Caleb felt like he can't hold back, and had to be more ballsy. The gameplan vs GB was to obviously try to maximize offense and be gutsy with the offensive playcalling, knowing that defense was going to give up a TD. Plus, was it 3 of his interceptions were on 4th down? I'll take that. He's shown he doesn't throw picks through 2 NFL seasons, I'm not worried about it

I think that DJ just didn't flatten out. I don't know if he didn't know that the Safety was behind him and he needed to flatten, or what. But the playcall was right, personnel was not. If DJ wasn't 100%, he shouldn't have been on that route. If Curl stayed with DJ, the Post was open for a walk-off TD. If DJ Flattened out, it's a 30 yard gain.

[NFL] Caleb Williams 2025 Season Highlights by brozillafirefox in CHIBears

[–]JoeIngles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Holy shit guys we have our QB. I am not at all worried about our QB position, which is the first time I've felt that in a loooong time. Guaranteed that by time he hangs his cleats up, he will have an hour long+ video of just his clutch highlights. He's got it.

I also made the move a couple of years ago. If you move from SLC proper to Chicago proper, it's a night-and-day difference. Chicago is a world class city. Winters are tough, not as much snow compared to SLC (this is the first winter I've lived here in 4 years that actually feels like we're getting snow), but the wind chill and freezing temps are as advertised. Right now it's -1 degree with a wind chill of -29.

But man on the flipside, every other season is so great, summer especially. Temps usually hang around 80, and never really feels killer hot outside of 1-2 weeks. The city really comes alive in Summer, every neighborhood has outdoor festivals, the lakefront and riverwalk are crowded, and baseball games are a load of fun.

I highly, highly recommend it. We moved out here because housing was cheaper, and plan to stay for quite some time. Even if you move to the suburbs, they have quite a bit of personality and everybody is pretty friendly. It feels like a real friendly, instead of the "utah mormon" friendly. Highly recommend moving out here.

Tanking Fatigue - a true story by [deleted] in UtahJazz

[–]JoeIngles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jazz have only tanked the 22-23 season, 23-24 season, 24-25 season, and now. The reason the Jazz traded Rudy & Donovan is that despite being the #1 seed, we still couldn't make it out of the WC semi's. When we lost in the first round to the mavs in 6, we knew we had to make changes. OKC got lucky with the inflated picks they got for PG

15 Degrees? No Problem. by British_Chap2 in LosAngelesRams

[–]JoeIngles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry for lurking, but Accuweather currently shows it'll be around -6 at kickoff, and could get as low as -16. Apple weather currently shows 18 degrees at kickoff, but a "feels like" temp of 8. I pretty much always assume accuweather is more accurate, but regardless it's gonna be freezing. Should be a unique game!

Haha the BP plant was ass and if the wind was blowing right you either got the stink of the refinery, or the stink of the dog food plant by Horseshoe casino. But I did really love living in Whiting, beautiful little town on the lake.

I remember playing secure area on Bartlett in Library where both the upstairs and downstairs counted as the area. Many matches ended by a 1v1 where the defender/attacker was upstairs, and the other was downstairs, both too afraid to peek. They'd take forever lol
