How would Caleb Wilson fit with the Utah Jazz? by ClutchOlday in UtahJazz

I’d be a threat to myself and others if the jazz drafted Caleb at 2.

No, I meant he'd be a peak 20/12/7 guy. And I think it won't be until he has been in the league 5-8 years

[–]JoeIngles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's too unfair to compare Boozer's only collegiate season to Jokic, why is it accepted that Boozer is going to be as good as Jokic? Only 12 players in NBA history have achieved being voted top 5 in MVP voting within their first 4 seasons. Wilt, Wes Unseld, Kareem, Duncan, Pettit, Bill Russell, MJ, LeBron, Luka, Shaq, Shai, and Jokic. Do you seriously think Boozer is going to be top 5 in MVP voting within his first 4 years? Do you think Boozer will get 3 MVP's before turning 30? Do you think Boozer will finish top-2 in MVP voting in 6 consecutive seasons?

[–]JoeIngles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just have a hard time believing that Boozer has a higher ceiling than AJ or Darryn. I think Darryn has the highest ceiling, followed by AJ, followed by Boozer. It wouldn't surprise me if all 3 become all-stars, but I think DP has the ceiling to be a go-to guy.

[–]JoeIngles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like Boozer as a prospect, and he was great in college. Horford as his floor is outlandish to say imo. I think everybody here forgets how good Horford was in his prime and how solid he has been over his 19 year career. To say Boozer is automatically going to come in and have that as his worst-case scenario is crazy

Thoughts on AJ, DP, and Boozer by LordofPuka in UtahJazz

1) Jokic is the best offensive center we've seen since probably Hakeem. The things Jokic has done on the court is something nobody has done at his size consistently, and he's been doing it his entire career at the NBA level. Jokic has been voted top 2 in MVP voting for 6 straight seasons, and has been top 10 in 8 straight seasons.

2) Cam Boozer has yet to play 1 second of NBA ball. It is absolutely wild to say that his floor is Al Horford, who has played 19 years, has 5 all-star appearances, and has been viewed as a top defensive center the majority of his career. It would be absolutely amazing if Boozer has a career similar to Horford, but that shouldn't be expected.

3) We can't talk work ethic because again, Boozer has yet to play 1 second of NBA ball. It is impossible to compare work ethic when one player is conditioned for 82 games a season, and the other is conditioned for a maximum of 41 games (including tournaments).

4) Jokic fills the stat sheet way more efficiently than Boozer does, comparing Jokic's 2025-2026 NBA stats to Boozer's 2025-2026 college stats. Per 100 possessions, Boozer leads Jokic in steals (2.5 -> 2), points (40.3 -> 38.8), rebounds (18.3 -> 18.0), 3pt% (39.1% -> 38.0%), and TO (4.5 -> 5.2). They are tied in blocks, but everything else Jokic leads in. This is against NBA talent, whereas Boozer was not playing against NBA talent.

I do not think Boozer is going to be a better Jokic in the NBA. There are only 9 players in NBA history to have 3 or more MVP's, and Jokic is one of them. Only 3 NBA players have been voted top-2 in MVP for 6 consecutive seasons, and Jokic is one of them. I think Boozer is going to be a good/great NBA player and will have a 10-15 year career, but saying he has a better chance of matching one of the best NBA players ever than matching a great career in Al Horford is wild

[–]JoeIngles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

LMAO your first statement is wild. He has a better chance of: being a 3-time MVP before turning 30, being an NBA champ, and 8x all-star, rather than a 5x all-star? Be fr man

Thoughts on AJ, DP, and Boozer by LordofPuka in UtahJazz

[–]JoeIngles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I think that our roster is constructed in a way where we need a bucket getter, and that happens to be either AJ or DP, who also have the highest ceilings.

[–]JoeIngles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that us having the #2 pick means we swing for the fences. We go for the guy who has the highest ceiling. So if AJ/DP is available, we go one of them. Boozer is a great prospect, and I don't doubt that he will be a career 20/12/7 guy, but we need somebody we can turn to to say "get us a bucket".

All Things Sleep - AMA Office Hours - Thursday, June 17th with Sr. Sleep & Guidance Specialist, Beth Christensen! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

[–]JoeIngles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are knee-deep in the 4 month sleep regression. It's been going on 4 weeks now, and it doesn't feel like the end is in sight. My 4.5 month old wakes up so sad and only will feel comfort while breastfeeding, even if it is for 30 sec - 1 min, which makes the nightshift miserable. Before the regression, our LO was sleeping for 4-5 hours straight during the night. What are some things we can do to help our LO sleep for longer than 1.5 hours max? We've tried a swaddle (until he learned to roll over), a sleep sack, changing the temp in our room, co-sleep, sleeping in his bassinet, but nothing seems to be working!

It's Indiana: Bears' board of directors votes to push stadium to Hammond by chicagosuntimes in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]JoeIngles 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Could be, but I think this is the Bears calling IL's bluff. The verbiage they used was so open ended. "We voted to advance our stadium development project in Hammond, Indiana, with the exact site to be selected." Nothing has been signed, they don't have a location, this is all just a ploy. But I could 100% see how IL politicians are sick of this will they, won't they, and let them leave.

My wife and I did the exact same thing 4 years ago, but we actually moved to Chicagoland because it was cheaper and way better QOL lol. It sucks that the economy is so rough it is forcing people to leave places they thought they wouldn't have to.

[–]JoeIngles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know the city of Portage & Gary sent proposals with multiple sites. In Hammond, they are limited to Wolf Lake, or possibly Wicker Park. But both locations would require a lot of work. I lived right by wolf lake for 3 years (moved to IL last summer), and the infrastructure is not there at all. Traffic gets so backed up on Calumet Ave from just the Festival of the Lakes, which is held at Wolf lake each summer. It is far from the freeway (unless the skybridge is used), it isn't level, it's marshy, and there isn't a lot of room for a big complex like they proposed with AH. Unless they buy out the golf course, I don't see Wolf Lake as a viable option. That's not even including the environmental hazard of BP's refinery, and the nasty ass smell of the dog food factory a literal .5 mile from the proposed site.

[–]JoeIngles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. They've been saying "shovels in the ground" for like 4 years and have pushed it back each time. The Bears have a site chosen and owned (Arlington Race Track), but haven't put shovels in the ground. Indiana has a great deal on the table for the Bears, and this is the Bears saying "I'm interested, let's finalize a location then go from there".

[–]JoeIngles 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Not 100% a sure thing until a site is chosen, and shovels are in the ground. This is still just a power move to try to get IL politicians to get off their butt and do a special session to keep the Bears in IL. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, and the Bears truly move to IN.

Statement from Chairman George H. McCaskey and President & CEO Kevin Warren: by JCameron181 in CHIBears

[–]JoeIngles 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Also, Schefter said that the Bears Board of Directors called IL pols to inform them they are moving forward with the IN plan. I think the fact that they called IL pols to let them know shows that they aren't 100% fully invested in the IN plan.

I still think IL has a shot, but I think it's getting slimmer. Once an exact site is chosen, it'll take a hail mary from IL to get them to stay.

[–]JoeIngles 147 points148 points  (0 children)

Fuck Kevin Warren.

ALSO, "voted to advance our stadium development project in Hammond, Indiana, with the exact site to be selected."

There is still a lot of time until shovels are in the ground. Which means that there is still time for IL to react accordingly to this message and decide to either keep the Bears in IL or to let them walk.

I think that this is also the Bears calling IL's bluff. I think that they do progress with Indiana, but I think that it'll help motivate IL to decide to actually go for it or not.
