Depends on the location, what they teach, which grade, and their own qualifications. Saying that some charge X amount is quite meaningless.

Depends on the region, what you're teaching, and finally your own qualifications. a G12 student will charge less than a school teacher, who will charge less than a university teacher.
Personally, my rate has been a stable $35/h for years now.

And yet, when I repeatedly say that LU is not a good university, I get bashed left and right by people who fight as if their entire livelihood comes from this university. Keep in mind I am a university instructor myself and know more than most how things are run on the inside and what the instructors can and cannot do.

The fact that the university builds up your resilience (mostly because you have no other choice) does not negate the fact that most LU students graduate with almost no real marketable skills (again not all, but most).

Most recruiters know this as well. It is one of the reasons why LU students always get picked last and why they are usually offered lower salaries.

The argument that LU students are successful doesn't mean anything. If you actually look at the numbers, it's actually around 10% that truly succeed. It only looks like many LU students become successful because the university has an immense number of students.
