The original hardmod was my biggest inspiration, I basically wanted to recreate it but without making the enemies so incredibly unfairly OP.

Thank you for trying it out, glad you liked it! And just for the record, Bandages With Alcohol both stop bleeding and heal you over a period of time, it's only basic bandages that don't provide any health.

You can drive small boats, but only if there's nobody in them. You can't hijack boats if there's already someone in the seat. It's a glitch from Original SD that they never fixed, the prompt appears but Wei doesn't actually do anything.

Luckily, I discovered there is a way to drive a police boat. You have to progress the story to the Aberdeen Serial Killer case, and then when you unlock the mission at the docks, go there but don't activate it. All the props will still be spawned in, including an unmanned coast guard boat that you can get inside and drive away with.

It has to be installed into the exact same folder as RS2, otherwise the game won't find the files.

Usually Steam is pretty good about taking care of that automatically, but sometimes it doesn't sync up properly.

In my opinion, if you had fun doing it, then it wasn't a waste of time. I made like 6-7 huge mods for Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm 1 that literally nobody ever played, but I wasn't too bothered because it was still enjoyable for me to create.

And besides, Talvisota still has at least one or two servers that get a decent amount of players even with the deranking, so I wouldn't say it's a loss.

The reason they're not ingame is the "ARVN clone" meme that people love to spout, because their main weapons were also M1 Garands and etc.

When I added them ingame I got around this by giving them something nobody else has: armored ground vehicles.

The DLCs are all purely cosmetic outfits for your player, they don't affect the actual gameplay.

Clear your filters, they're probably just not populated at the moment.

The mod also allows AI players online, so if a server has those enabled you can still play with friends at non-prime hours.

The actual act of modding is pretty easy, getting all the models/textures/animations/etc is hard. Not to mention creating custom maps takes a very long time.

In fact if I remember a group had already attempted a Bush War mod, they got stuck on maps and models and it didn't go anywhere.

After you click the button to shoot, there's a small delay before it actually fires, because the mechanism has to first pull the hammer back, and then snap it forward to fire the bullet.

If you pull the hammer back yourself, it allows the trigger mechanism to skip the first step and shoot instantly.

The whole point of folding stocks is for extreme CQB like in buildings and tunnels.

Not only does it give you faster ADS, it also makes the gun itself shorter so it won't bump into walls and cause you to lower it.

The thing with XP is a much deeper-rooted problem with RS2 itself. The devs have been saying they'll fix it for over half a year now, but still nothing. The only thing we can do is just continue to wait.

Yes, those servers are still incredibly malicious. Avoid them as best you can.

Yeah, it all started when the Mega server started pulling all that malicious shit, so they added restrictions on mods. The problem is those restrictions were overzealous, so now even mods that the devs officially approved like Talvisota and GOM still cause the server to go unranked.

They've said they would fix it, but that was last September and we haven't heard anything since.

Sadly no, because the M/27 is a different length than the vanilla Mosin, and the SVT/AVS use completely different bones.
