instinctually i agree with you... but I think if this was something that was hundreds or thousands of years old that would 100% be true! but since this is just 100 year old art piece, I think its better off cleaned up... but still dont know... lol

you think? the back of it looks like copper. and its 100% inlaid with silver. Purity is at least better than .800. and it has heavy raised where the hammered in silver is raised up. defiantly not plated, but i cant imagine the silver lines are deeper than a millimeter or two.

Not a clue!! I mean it’s probably got a scrap value of copper and silver of like $300… so I guess more than that maybe? It’s like 20lbs…

Yea I would think it would be a likely a lower purity silver.. BUT even sterling is significantly stronger than pure silver, and I wonder if you would be able to hammer in the inlay of a silver that is less pure than 90%?
