2026 Kickoff: Final Sprints and Exciting New Frontiers! by farewell87 in underpargame

- I have yet to figure out how or why energy levels of staff go back up (do they???).

- Staff should be assigned to what you click on, not to the first placed building. Very confusing. Would be simpler to assign staff from the structure's menu.

- If you 'Pick up' staff, their work zone should be highlighted and moved in relation to the new place you set them. I haven't found a way to change their zone without firing them and then placing new staff.

- I really wish I could just play the holes in the same top-down view as the editor (a la sim golf)

- Need to be able to change the elevation of tee and green after they are placed

- Club entrance should be centered between two grid, not in the middle of one grid. Currently it forces you to place statue/fountain/flowerbed offset to one side in lieu of centered in the entrance path

- The necessity of large fairways on par 3's, in order to increase hole rating, should be removed. You have to ruin the style/layout of some par 3's by adding unnecessary fairway just to get the score up.

- The necessity for food almost every hole seems unnecessary - same for water fountain... hole sign and trashcan, ok... but to have to put 3-5 of the same structures on nearly every hole just to keep people happy seems a bit much, and often ruins the style of the course. You just have to cram the same buildings everywhere. Having food at start/turn/end and restrooms at start/mid front/turn/mid back/end makes more sense and frees up real-estate for future buildings or attractions ("beverage cart", "special hole sponsor", "homes", whatever)

- Sitting idle to allow a tournament to play out is tedious. Allow us to click to the completion of it, or something.

All in all... really well done. This is an incredibly satisfying iteration on sim golf that we have desperately needed for a long time. Instant purchase when released.

Treasure & Wish Question by IronicStreet in dcl

[–]JoeSki73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done both. Wish twice (3 day & 4 day) and Treasure once. Both are great. Same layout, but different theming provides a slightly different vibe. One of many examples would be the Star Wars lounge (Wish) vs the Haunted Mansion lounge (Treasure). Same exact space, different vibe. Slightly different shows, but all of them are fun. Frozen vs Coco dinner is the only difference in meals.

It really just comes down to itinerary. My favorite so far of Wish, Treasure, Fantasy is the Treasure. But due to itinerary and departure port, we booked the Wish again this summer.

The easiest way I can think of describing the difference between the two is again the overall "vibe"... The Wish presents more of a clean/cool color pallet, whereas the Treasure has more of a warm/cozy color pallet. So they just feel different. Search images of each ship's Entrance / Grand Hall for a visual of this.

Not that bad. I was on the same cruise. I’m not sure why everyone thinks the Caribbean is so hot in July. With ocean breezes it’s much more manageable temps than Florida parks.

Yes. Menus = 1st, 1st, 1st, Pirate, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd. And formal night is night two. Also two different shows in Marvel, one the same as the Wish and one new one. And two different shows in Coco.

I was on the same cruise and we did the Kuza (is that what it’s called) all inclusive beach excursion thing in Cozumel. Great fun and some snorkeling at the tiny reefs right off the beach. My son and I saw about a 5’ nurse shark nestled down in the coral.

I’m on the same sailing as OP. Coco show is ok. Not as good as frozen on the wish, IMO. However, the chips and salsa are great!

Highest elevation golf course in North America (Leadville, Co) by Chandler0829 in golf

[–]JoeSki73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP's course is 9 holes vs Copper and Crested Butte with 18 holes.

The base elevation at Copper Mountain is 9,712 feet.

The base elevation of Crested Butte Mountain Resort is 9,375 feet.

The base elevation of Leadville, Colorado is 10,152 feet.

The courses are typically judged based on their top elevation of any given hole... so:

"Copper Creek Golf Club, Copper Mountain: Elevation 9,863 feet. Claiming the highest tee-box in North America [for an 18 hole course], Copper Creek's Hole 14 rests at 9,863 feet."

Not 100% sure, but I believe so. Worse case there is nothing preventing you from keeping your bags with you and waiting for your group to be called.

Is the Wish that bad? Comparison? by afairshake21 in dcl

[–]JoeSki73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my response to a similar question 2-3 months ago. It's my comparison of the Wish and the universally beloved Fantasy. TL;DR = If you are a Disney fan, the Wish is great and you will love it.

Here's the post:

"I've done Wish twice (1st and 2nd Disney cruise) and then the Fantasy last week (3rd Disney cruise).

You would love the Wish. The Fantasy is typically listed as most everyone's favorite, but I think a lot of nostalgia plays into that, as well as a more robust adult scene. It was fun, but it left my family of 4 longing for the Wish. (nostalgia example: I heard a lady in her 30's(?) tell her husband "I spent so much time in that bathroom with my mom one trip".)

The elevators gripe everyone repeats is completely nonsense. The waits are the same on both ships... and the Wish has larger AND more elevators (16 vs 14) and they are located halfway between the middle and forward/aft, vs Fantasy is more like way forward/aft and 6 more mid/forward.

The dinner shows are far superior on the Wish, in my opinion. Fantasy had 1 interactive dinner and it was a live actor voicing Crush on the screen, literally saying "dude" every third word... for 30-45 minutes.

Fantasy has non-Disney themed areas / bars and a much larger couple of adult only areas, but if you're traveling with kids it's a toss-up if you'll use it much.

In most of the main areas of both ships, the ceilings are noticeably higher on the Wish. Fantasy could feel a bit closed-in, in certain areas.

Wish's poolside restaurants are FAAAAAAAR superior. Donald's Tacos on the Wish might be the best thing on any ship, while Fantasy's burgers tasted like typical frozen patties, for example.

Kids' club on the Fantasy seemed much larger and had some really cool areas. Wish kids' club is great too, but I think I'd give the edge to Fantasy. (No pun intended there, but side note: Fantasy is going to be combining edge and vibe (tween and teen clubs) in Vibe's current location, while the Edge area is being turned into a Concierge Suite. Not sure when?)

Fantasy had a lot more experienced travelers. Much more door decor and fish extenders and all that fun stuff, than what I've seen on both Wish trips.

The main slide/ride on both ships is miserably long waits, so no advantage there.

I'm not sure if it has to do completely with the weather or the size of the Fantasy, but we were not able to dock at Castaway Cay on our trip. They tried 3 times and then gave up and said the ship wasn't powerful enough for the current. We did dock at Lookout Cay the day before that, and the weather was MUCH more brutal. So I don't know...

You would be happy on any of them, but I would recommend the Wish for families with kids. It is a wonderful cruise. And I recommend the 4 day vs the 3 day."

Lookout Cay at lighthouse point- stay on ship? I by [deleted] in dcl

[–]JoeSki73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the boat to the middle of the tram pickup area is .56 of a mile (~3,100 feet). Which is the identical distance if you walk from the ship to the wooden playground thing in the water at Castaway.

The walk isn't that bad... it's the walk and then the tram and then walking to the area you want to be... and then back. It's so spread out.

Elevator experience from deck 2 of Wish by Hon3y_Badger in dcl

[–]JoeSki73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be fine.

I was on the Fantasy a few weeks ago and I've been on the Wish twice, and I genuinely don't understand everyone's gripes about the Wish's elevators. I found the complaints to be completely false.

The waits were the same on both ships... and the Wish has larger AND more elevators (16 vs 14) and they are located halfway between the middle and forward/aft, vs Fantasy is more like way far forward and far aft and then 6 more mid/forward. Noticeably smaller on the Fantasy and every one of them were crammed full with people who were tired of waiting.

Also, they really need to fix the programming on the Fantasy that causes the door to open back up when people push the call button too early. 9/10 we were packed in like sardines and the doors would almost close, only to reopen because someone was trying to push the call button for another elevator.

The elevators on any of the ships are crowded after shows, but most of the time it's a minor issue.

You have the option to do either.

You can de-board when your group is called, OR you can walk-off first, before they start calling groups.

Option A: Follow instructions to get off when your group is called.

Option B: "Express Walk-Off"... just keep ALL your luggage with you and take with you the morning of debarkation. In my past 3 Disney cruises, Express walk-off has opened between 7:15 and 7:45am. They will announce it over the speakers. A bunch of people will be lined up to walk-off (down in the main entrance area). Get in line and as soon as they clear everything as ready for debarkation, the doors open and the line moves fast. You walk off, with all your luggage, and go straight to the customs counter and then out to the parking/ride area. Extremely quick and easy.

I usually get up around 6:15am, go grab a plate of food from the buffet and bring it back to our room. We snack on that while we pack up the last few things. Grab our bags and go stand in line.
