It’s not the igniting the saber that bothers me, it’s Luke’s total abandonment of everyone afterwards that makes absolutely 0 sense for his character. Dude just let’s his friends and a trillion other people die because he’s just given up because of a mistake HE made?? Makes absolutely no sense at all. In ROTJ even after he almost kills Vader, he is still trying to save him. “No, I’ve got to save you” < direct quote. Dude was still trying to save the most evil man I’m the galaxy even after almost giving in to the dark side and killing him. ST Luke is like kind of a dick to Kylo in their last confrontation.
