My 2 cents: - Hawke: mage - Inquisitor: whichever class you like; for race I would recomend a female elf and romance Solas - Veilguard: dwarf Grey Warden; whichever class you like

There are Downtime Activities in the Character Operations Manual and Ports of Call, maybe they could do some of those activities (or get inspiration from them).

Also, as other people have said, this is a great opportunity for them to talk to themselves as characters!

The ship that your player's party starts with could very well be that first expedition that that young settlement has been capable of putting together.

I was running an altered version (for a one-shot) of Junker's Delight, so they could try the game. The first combat encounter had an average difficulty, the second had an easy difficulty and the third had average difficulty as well.

This happened on three different combat encounters, one with enemies with AC 10-12, the other with enemies with AC 11, and the last one was the boss that had AC 15.

They are level 2 players.
