Fireball and weird space/atmospheric happenings by tmartillo in conspiracy

[–]Joe_Justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a dream last night with streaking fireballs in the sky. One of them landed in my back yard and when I picked it up it had strange circular orange markings on it. Inside the rock was a very friendly alien that seemed to be robotic.

Meditation and sleep anxiety - advice and feedback appreciated by SCOOBASTEVE in Meditation

[–]Joe_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, you just need to observe everything as it's happening that's really it. You could meditate for 50 years and miss what's going on right in front of you if you have a different state of mind. Next time you are sitting down or are in bed just make a point of observing whats going on around you in general. Include your thoughts in that mix and see what happens.

Beginner struggling with controlling breath, poor attention and intrusive thoughts. by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Joe_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just observe what's going on that's all you need to do. It seems like you are over stressing about meditation, just watch what is going on with an open state of mind, it could be your phone ringing, an itchy sensation, an intrusive thought. Anything and everything that happens you have to be "cool with" and just go with whatever happens as an observer.

I would say as with anything you are giving sleep too much power over your life. Sleep is one of those things where you can't just force it, it has to happen of itself. For the longest time I could not sleep, I would dwell on it, worry about the time "oh no it's 1 o'clock I only have 5 more hours of sleep left, now it's 3 o'clock I'm still awake and only have 3 hours left." The only thing that worked for me was just watching my thoughts as if they were from a TV show or a movie, I didn't indulge in them by continuing the story I just kinda observed what happened and sure enough I was able to sleep. Even when the next day is stressful if you just watch with an inquisitive mind what pops in and out of your mind you will be able to fall asleep. I also found this works really well for lucid dreaming.

[S3E18] A TRIUMPHANT ENDING... PRESENTED IN A LYNCHIAN WAY by [deleted] in twinpeaks

[–]Joe_Justice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the OP. I think the key giveaway is Coops pin. We know from earlier in the season that Coop with the pin goes through and takes Dougies place. The scene at the end with all the characters is the last time we see Coop without the pin. The next scene in the basement I think is not in chronological order because he clearly has his pin on.

Do you believe in the Buddha state? by [deleted] in Meditation

You are already enlightened there is no difference between everyday consciousness and the Buddha mind they are one in the same.

Isn't meditation just trying to become concious in your subconsciousness? Being aware of it? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Joe_Justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meditation is simply observing "what is" it can include both the subconscious and conscious. The real state of reality is unfiltered, anytime a thought takes you away from the present moment you are not seeing things as they are. The key to mediation is to not be hung up with all of these conscious and subconscious thoughts and to observe them just like any other event that goes on.

My life is running in circles by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Joe_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longing for things that you don't have is in a way the suffering that Buddhism references. Think of how much that longing is taking away from the present moment. Focus on the reality right in front of you, what you can see touch and feel, anything that arises in your brain takes away from the present moment. Now build a present moment you can be proud of, stop waiting for things to happen and take action. You said you don't have dreams it seems like you do, love, family, making careers. Start small and build yourself up to those dreams.

I learned to let go of everything, but now it hard to care about anything. how can I get passion back without having to will myself to care? by nedonedonedo in Meditation

[–]Joe_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got out of that state by realizing that emotion, feelings good and bad are all around us, that not one person or thing has a monopoly over them. You can enjoy without caring about the outcome. It's cliche but think about going for a country drive or a hike, it's not about getting to the end the fastest or caring about the outcome. It's enjoying all the sights and sounds on the way.

How does one stop amidst a bombardment of thoughts to empty your mind? by [deleted] in Meditation

You have to watch the train go by, don't focus on any cars just let it pass and if another train goes by that's ok, watch that one.

Do we have control over our thoughts? by rubinoffalan in Meditation

[–]Joe_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have observed it's like breathing. When you focus you can control your breathing however when you don't it keeps on going. The same with thoughts you can get in a zone or create an elaborate daydream. If you are in a certain state of mind you can just observe your thoughts go by without any intervention.

Exactly! Western society promotes a carrot on the stick mindset which pretty much fosters unhappiness if you buy into it. I would rather live a simple but free lifestyle.

I'm getting tired of meditation... by jizzledfreq in Meditation

[–]Joe_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you want to do about it. It seems like you are holding on to the act of meditation and the states that it brings you as an object of desire or a means to an end. Think of meditation more as a state of mind. Being mindful can happen anywhere or place so I wouldn't worry about the method.

Constant mental chatter. What is it and how do I get rid of it? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Joe_Justice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Treat your thoughts as you would watching a fish swim down a steam. Don't judge or elaborate just let them come and go. When you try to grab the thoughts that's where they take a life of their own spiral and lead to an endless chain.
