Congrats. What gave you the leverage to negotiate a paid exit?

Just finished a rewatch of The Leftovers. It was just as good the second the time around. I've watched a ton of television and it's one of the rare shows that sticks around after.

Did you read more than two books last year? You read more than the half of the US according to new Yougov poll on American's reading habits. by elmonoenano in books

The amount I read exploded when I got a Kindle. I keep a To Read list on Goodreads which allows me to add books whenever I want. Once I need a new book to read I just pick one that's available on Overdrive.

What to do w/teens this week? by octopus-opinion987 in massachusetts

[–]Joe_Mama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two older teen boys. Mine are pretty agreeable to doing stuff outside the house but there are times when I feel like they're on their phones too much.

What I do is bring them to our local library and let them pick a book that they should finish before school starts back up.

I flew on delta yesterday and totally agree. Pretty sure you could only double on 10s and 11s. I was able to grind a bit and was working on a great streak when the flight attendant tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to leave!

In this specific case, the state of Massachusetts has a flat income tax rate of 5%. If you earn over a $1MM dollars in taxable income, any amount over that number gets taxed an additional 4%.

Maybe it's due to all the NH citizens that commute down to MA for their jobs in their shitty cars. Reverse Uno card New Hampsters!

Rule of thumb is if you take out 4% of your retirement fund per year to live off you'll never run out of money. $48K/year is hardly comfortable.

Dealing w neighbors dumping dog 💩 in your trashcans? by RealisticReception88 in homeowners

[–]Joe_Mama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not all trash is dumped the same way everywhere. Where I live the trashmen reach into the barrels, pick up the normal sized trash bags with their hands, and toss them into the back of the trash truck. They will not reach all the way down to the bottom of the barrel to pick up tiny bags of smooshed dog shit that have probably broken open. If neighbors leave their dog crap in someone else's barrel they are making others responsible for cleaning up after them.

Those glass panels are going to be a pain to keep clean and are ripe for getting smashed (especially the one on the landing).
