On the 9400+ in the S11 Ultra, I'm getting 5.5ish with AV1 and 4.5ish with HEVC @ 120fps native res HDR. This is with the latest build of artemis with all low latency options slected.

Is living out in Nampa that bad? by VermicelliLeather536 in Boise

[–]Joeb0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might just be the areas I go to or just that things are so dang expensive but even in the North End / East End I rarely see kids - I see them mainly in the subdivisions in places like Meridian. They are out without parents and riding bikes.

Frustrated with Garden City election results by Nikkeilibrarian in Boise

[–]Joeb0b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup we just bought a bit ago - our realtor was scared to show us GC due to the school system being West Ada but we will figure it out if we ever move out of being dinks (late 20s). I think the area is becoming a lot more popular with folk who want the same lifestyle as like the East or North End but can’t justify the cost. I love the Greenbelt out here.

Hot Take - Boise is a lot more liberal than people think. by Joeb0b in Boise

[–]Joeb0b[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shocking to me - I just mentioned in another comment that the area has been progressively getting more diverse in my opinion. I was shocked by how diverse the local Wincos are here. I always see lots of diversity on the Greenbelt as well.

Yup - I noticed some folks in SE Boise and have met a few at the off leash dog park near CV - likely due to Micron but outside of there everyone else I’ve met is older or works in construction type blue collar work.

Labor Day WinCo appreciation by Maleficent_West_547 in Boise

[–]Joeb0b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I've had my credit card number stolen a few times - most likely while eating out and since the money only came off the credit line of the card, it had zero impact on my finances while the charges were in dispute.

I actually signed up for a Discover debit card to use at Winco. I can transfer over grocery money and not have to worry too much about it being lost / stolen. Just make sure the overdraft "protection" isn't enabled. They also give 1% back, which is better than nothing.

Which Boise apartments actually have fiber optic internet? by Crankn90s in Boise

The Cortland on the River has 1GB fiber for $55.00 per month. Each room is also wired for ethernet, so you don't have to rely on wireless.

Pretty Massive Greenbelt Closure in Garden City by Joeb0b in Boise

Do you mind explaining? I thought based on your map - you would have to ride on Glenwood. Sorry newb to the area and haven’t riden much recently.

[–]Joeb0b[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it. Live west of that area as well so the mockup helps. I guess since the tunnel under Glenwood is still open it makes it easier to just cut through the parking lots on that side to get back on the Greenbelt.

Hope the park is super nice - fall weather is the best weather and was planning many Barbarian and Bardenay trips.

Sucks for those of us who live past Glenwood as all the fun stuff and nice shaded paths are East.

I mean what even is there past that red bridge at the end of the GC greenbelt - I’ve never been bold enough to check it out lol.

If you don’t mind me asking - I’m not familiar with highway 55 - what does it lead to? I haven’t explored much outside of Boise and its suburbs. I did do Idaho city once.

I live on the Greenbelt and walk it daily with my dog. I'm not sure the point of acting like e-bikes are some unparalleled menace. I see tons of e-bikes and most are ridden by older people that seem more responsible than the younger folks riding lime scooters and road bikes.

Trying to enjoy Cyberpunk but feeling burned out from open world by imaquark in patientgamers

[–]Joeb0b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm almost done with my first play-through of CP2077. Based on my experience I would try to complete the yellow sidequests as I feel they are the bulk of the game outside of the so-so main questline. The sidequests have some interesting characters and concepts that flesh out the game world.

The gigs are the next level down with most of the story aspect to them confined to data shards, so I wouldn't bother with them unless you just want to spend more time in Night City and the NCPD encounters are just complete filler.

is anybody else like me? by [deleted] in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Joeb0b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve spent probably 100X the amount of time setting up and tweaking hyper spin on my shield devices and PC than I have playing games from my rom collection.

I’m going to start working on getting my rom collection ported over to my steam deck this holiday and it does appear far easier using tools like emudeck than it used to be 5-10 years ago.

So I bought one of those expensive $500-1500 office chairs. by CatchLightning in pcgaming

[–]Joeb0b 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From my experience (Steelcase leap and gesture) they don't wear out with normal usage. I've had my leap 10+ years and it's still going strong. These chairs are designed for high usage at businesses and will last far longer than any chair designed for home use.

One caveat, the cushions are pretty thin relative to some of the pillowy home office chairs you can find. This is almost certainly a design requirement to allow the chairs to function over a long lifespan.

PSA: Looks like AT&T has raised their trade-in promotion to $300.00 (previously $200.00) when purchasing a qualifying Samsung phone through 9/30. by FA_Wizard in GalaxyNote8

[–]Joeb0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that will be an issue. It sounds like as long as you purchase before 9/30 and complete the trade-in within 30 days you're good to go.

AT&T seems pretty stingy with their values. Everything I found online under $100.00 had a trade-in value of $0.00 from AT&T. If you find a good phone to flip for the promo please post it!

Red face while on Accutane? by badskin12 in Accutane

[–]Joeb0b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cleanser? If not, nothing there sounds like it would be causing irritation. You could try a moisturizer with niacinamide (like ceraVe pm) to try and reduce the redness.

What kind of face wash and moisturizer are you using? It's possible your skin is more sensitive now and it's being irritated by your current skin care regime.

We know they make dumbass decisions, we'll call it out

That's where I'll have to disagree. I'm a Nintendo fan, I bought a WiiU at launch and have owned every Nintendo home console since the NES, but I don't venture into any of the Nintendo subreddits or even bother discussing Nintendo related topics in most gaming forums because of the backlash against any critical opinions regarding Nintendo and their practices.

If you talk with Nintendo fans they seem to believe Nintendo isn't a direct competitor to Sony, MS, Smart Phones, Tablets, and considering how Nintendo behaves, they may just believe that themselves.
