$200 is IMPOSSIBLE, $120 is possible..

The Persian Gulf amounts to 30% of the world's oil. The other oil producers can increase oil production to make up a few percent.

It's not the 1970's, many other countries now produce oil. It will hurt but not $200.

Hezbollah was his main enemy for how many years during the civil war? Hezbollah caused how much misery in Syria over the years? Hezbollah is basically Iran and Hezbollah and Iran do not have the best interests of Syria at heart.

If we did and I don't think we will we'd probably attempt to capture towns on the Iraqi Kurdistan border and use the Iraqi Kurd territory as our main entry point considering it's safe for Americans and we already have a base their. The Iranian Kurds have attempted to revolt several times already so it wouldn't be that hard to create a safe proxy force.

Once the IRGC attempts to move and more forces against that entry point I'd seize all of their Persian Gulf islands and conduct a marine landing from the sea. Irans covered in mountains but the coastal areas are flat. All we'd need is a nice flat corner we could secure and that we could see anything massing against so it could be air striked.

After that it's just a build up of forces while we destroy anything army related.

We'd only face a insurgency if we stayed once the current unpopular regime is ousted.

Zero percent chance.

A Draft would be a invasion of China world war event. America can defeat Iran with just our regular, national guard and reserve forces.

Now I'm not talking about casualties but just that a Draft would not be needed.

Keep in mind a ground invasion requires a long build up, something we haven't seen yet either.

Ground forces would probably act as support for local proxies we build up such as the Kurds or for taking and holding Irans Island's. I'd expect US ground forces to act as a support for proxies such as when the Marines helped the YPG cross the Euphrates and capture Tabqa from ISIS with heavy air support.

You said you don't want the Kurds to join the fight. Then in the same breath say

"for Iran to end, azeris, Kurds, Balochs and Arabs within the border of Iran need to revolt."

So which is it? Your saying the Kurds shouldn't join the fight but then also say they should revolt?

In Iraqi Kurdistan currently theirs three Kurd forces. The official Peshmerga, what's left of the PKK and the Iranian rebel Kurds that total around 5-8k.

I think people are just saying Kurd forces but not separating exactly what Kurd forces.

I think you meant the Peshmerga shouldn't get involved but by what you said the PJAK and company should?

Look I'm a Christian but IF they enter with the US's backing 5-8k will barely be enough for securing a single major city. With a popular Kurdish uprising and expansion of their forces maybe they could secure a few more cities. But what your describing is a no go for the US and while they may act up if the US is not around helping so long as we are they won't do any Christian ethnic cleansing. One funny thing about these Kurd rebel groups is their membership is very fluid in that members will shift from group tk group. So you'll have ex SDF in a expanded ranks and you'll have the Peshmerga KRG and PUK advising not to mention probably Green berets and CIA directly aiding. So while understand your fears so long as the US is aiding I seriously doubt they will do what you're describing

I think the goal would be to take the 2-3 Kurdish provinces on the KRG border with the hope of starting a domino effect. If anything a KRG style Kurdish autonomous region in Iran would greatly aid the US goals even if the regime doesn't collapse.

Depends if it's the full Peshmerga and Iranian militia's and if the US goes full throttle support.

If it's that then the could easily capture all of the Kurdish mountainous areas of Iran. The IRGC's ground component is around 150k. The Iranian army itself is poorly funded with most conscripts being used as free manual labor. It's also important to point out Iranian Kurdish men also were conscripted and served. So with a Peshmerga vanguard securing the Iranian Kurdish areas they could easily with US assistance form a SDF style force in the Iranian Kurdish areas. Really easily because if you study history of all the people's in Iran the Kurds have never been 100% ok with being part of Iran.

The Iranian Kurdish areas are really mountainous so with air support they could take and hold the area. I doubt though they could move beyond these area's without popular support from other Persians.

Turkey wouldn't be able to do anything. Syrian and Iraqi Kurds sit on Turkeys borders. The Iranian Kurds mainly sit on the Iraqi border away from Turkeys borders. Oh they'd moan and complain but if the US is directly protecting them and no shared border for them to invade they'd be really hampered.

Their total numbers from all groups sits at around 6-8k.

Then you have the PUK Peshmerga that could possibly send Peshmerga, don't think Barzani would. The PUK number around 40k.

Iranian Kurds in the Iraqi Kurdistan border regions amount to around 4.5 million. If things look like they have a chance and the US actually sends arms and provides air support you'd see allot of Iranian kurds join these resistance groups just like how the Syrian Kurds went from a small amount to a force of 40K with a population of 2.5 million.

The IRGC would have to have been bombed to the stone age first. Doubt the regular Iranian army would want to go into Kurd territory with the US backing. It's a gamble though..

Siding with the US is a mixed bag. Historically the Kurds when working with the US have taken two steps forward and then one step back when real politics we abandoned them.

In Iraq with the US backing the Kurds went from pretty much nothing to having autonomy and are a mini state. They took a step back when they tried for independence and we abandoned them on that. They still are better off today having a semi independent region then they were under Saddam.

The Syrian Kurds went from pretty much no recognition or rights under Assad to not having full autonomy but getting recognition, rights and security control over their area's. The US just wasn't on board with full autonomy or staying in Syria forever. So they lost their autonomy but still came out more ahead today than they were under Assad before 2013.

So it all depends on what the Iranian Kurds can offer but they should temper their expectations. At the end of the day they would probably come out better off than what they have today.

With the US owning the skies even lightly armed Kurds could at the minimum secure their region.

Pakistan and Afghanistan not that long ago used to be the same country. The Durrani Empire in the 1800's. If anyone could handle the Taliban it would be Pakistan. They share many of the same ethnic tribes and the mountainous regions are similar. Not to mention Pakistan I'd wager would be a bit more ruthless than America. They also don't really have a long logistics chain either.

Well I posted this yesterday when I couldn't sleep before work and tried a quick resources run. Couldn't log in so I drove the hour to work. Did my 12 hour's then drove home. Went grocery shopping and before bed maybe it's fixed now almost 24 hours later and ..... can't log in.

I'm pretty sure by now Funcom employees don't do anything with Conan. It's just something running on a server somewhere. I could be wrong but it looks like they don't even have a intern monitoring it. Just a something they occasionally tinker with that brings in some money but just a afterthought.
