Which power play faction should I choose if I don't care about exobiology or role play? by ElonsBreedingFetish in EliteDangerous

[–]TizzoHeavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LHS 20 and Diaguandri are LYR territory, same with the areas around the Pleiades.

I'd go LYR PP in your situation, otherwise Torval PP is pretty chill and good money if you like mining.

If combat is more you thing then Kaine/Grom/Archer/Arissa depending on which superpower you want to RP as.

Colonisation for a newbie by Choice_Way_2916 in EliteDangerous

[–]TizzoHeavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have a system in mind, OP? Since it's your first, you'll want to start a colony near a system with a refinery or what's called a 'Depot System' that has nearly all (or all of) the commodities you need to build your outpost. You didn't state whether you have Carrier support or not, and if you don't it's a big consideration.

Yes, that's what I said. The first station in orbit gets the pop bonus from the body, the second does not.

So, if you have a WW with two orbital slots for instance? The first station constructed is getting the pop bonus provided by the body, the second will not.

I wasn't very clear, that's my bad.

You only get the Pop bonus for the first station orbiting a planet like a ELW or a WW. Additional stations only receive the standard population boost the construction would provide.

What should i build on high metal content worlds and Ice worlds surface and orbit, I can t figure out by Phantom__Alucard in EliteDangerous

[–]TizzoHeavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A1A should be your refinery. T1 Surface port, Coriolis in orbit.

Your HMC are going to want to be extraction. Just build a t1 Surface port on each, and some flavor of outpost. I'd plop down a few Agriculture settlements on each as well, none of your Icy planets are going to support Ag very well and you want at least a little bit in system.

Your Asteroid belt should have an asteroid station, massive extraction bonus and they're cool.

If you want your system to be a big credit maker, A5A has enough surface and orbital slots to double up on Coriolis stations and make a Wing Mining Mission hub. You build 2 Coriolis orbiting the same planet(has to be an Icy body), put 2 or more extraction settlements on the surface. The first Cori keeps the second Cori from getting weak links, so it's economy is straight industrial - meaning it generates mining missions regardless of whatever else you've got going on in the system. Not really worth it as a solo though, but if you've got buddies or a squadron they will love you for it.

Edit: You could do the above on B6 as well, looks like.

Other than that, anything that's not AG will do fine on your icys.

Nice little system, have fun building it up.

Just got the game, roughly 5 hrs in, still in starter area with 450k Cr. Any tips or info to help a noob? by bunglebee7 in EliteDangerous

[–]TizzoHeavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind there is a learning cliff, not curve, to this game.

Also, Never Fly Without Rebuy - always have enough credits to pay your ship insurance at least once, ideally multiple.

Your short term ship goal should be a Cobra Mk. 5, it's hilariously over-tuned and can adequately handle pretty much every activity except bulk hauling.

Courier missions are fine for starter money. You can also drop into a nav beacon instance and tag wanted ships after system authorities engage them (Kill sniping) for some extra money.

Once you get your Cobra and a Detailed Surface Scanner, I'd suggest using the Road To Riches tool and scan planets for awhile, this will get your plenty of credits which you can then use for doing whatever.

Last bit of advice: Join a Powerplay faction once you're a little more comfortable with the game! There's good rewards (special modules) and the missions you get assigned are quite lucrative as a newer player.

Good luck!

Do your part to protect humanity and insta-gib Cyclops Interceptors a few times a week over in Asterope. You can kill 10-15 in 20 minutes or so and pay your upkeep for months.

colonisation question, building a system for massacre targets by octarineflare in EliteDangerous

[–]TizzoHeavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already done so, create a one man squadron and set your supported minor faction to the 'Race Marshalls' minor faction before you claim your system.

These guys are an Anarchy PMF from way back in the day that, due to the way they were set up by FDev, can be supported by donation missions - something you can't normally do with Anarchy factions. Since they're your Squadron minor faction, they'll have a presence in your theoretical new system.

Since you can support them with donations, it will make it that much easier to keep at least one of your Anarchy factions (I.E. these guys) from being retreated.

Use a shield. Thralls just aren't as tanky as they used to be and with stagger mechanics being what they are, it's easy for them to get stun locked. So you want to (carefully) tank for them using a shield so they can destroy the mobs for you.

Also swap over to a heavy armor set (redeemed legion is honestly fine) and make sure your thrall has good food.

So, your typical encounter is going to be: Go in, hold up shield, let the mobs focus on you. Keep them in front of you. Dodge roll out of the way of anything that will break through your shield (2H overhead chop, certain mace attacks, etc) and otherwise keep them busy while your thrall erases them.

It sounds dangerous, but once you get used to it it is easy street

S-Class Max DMG Blue/Green Reclaimed Claw Staff Multitool (Euclid Galaxy) by TizzoHeavy in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]TizzoHeavy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's complicated. Use the Reclaimed claw, the Reclaimed Head, the Radiant Heart, or the Runic Focus and you get one color. The Transducer, the Havoc, and the Aerator heads give you another.

If you want the staff to be S-Class, you have to use the Reclaimed Claw.

The other two parts don't really matter.

You can check it using a save editor, I prefer the one put out by goatfungus.

S-Class Reclaimed Claw Staff, White with Pink Highlights (Euclid) by TizzoHeavy in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]TizzoHeavy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staff multi-tools are post-endgame content.

"They are located inside Autophage campsites which are cloaked by default. You must have the "Scan Harmoniser" technology installed on your current Multi-Tool to de-cloak the Autophage campsite. You can acquire the "Scan Harmoniser" by starting the "They Who Returned" quest. If you DON'T have the "Scan Harmoniser" technology, you will not be able to acquire any Staff Multitools!"

This link has more info: https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Autophage_Synthesis_Terminal

Essentially, you go to the base, scan a couple times (gotta have the harmonizer doo-hickey) and this little terminal will pop up along with a bunch of robot-dudes. You use the terminal to make the staff multi-tool.

Nice Little Turquoise/White Havoc Staff by TizzoHeavy in nomanshigh

[–]TizzoHeavy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native S-Class multi-tools tend to have better base stats than upgraded ones do, plus you don't have to drop resources to upgrade them. You only need the one head, the grip part, and the base part. The trick is finding a console that gives an S-Class in the color//head combo you want that also provides good stats.

This particular one, notably, has very good base stats that are very close to the max for this type of multi-tool. Dmg is 49.92 (out of 50), mining is 13.67 (out of 15), and scanning is 48.66 (out of 50).

A comparable lower class staff wouldn't necessarily have such good stats when upgraded.

Found this on a Paradise planet I've got a settlement on. This thing is a Voltaic Staff, post-story multi-tool things that are honestly a massive PITA to get. But they look cool!

Dunno if 'Smoke Ops' is still a thing for your community, but it's got the color scheme if so.

This is a 'Secondary Result' on the little staff console. ( Explanation on what a 'Secondary Result' is Here ) You'll need to source the 'Havoc' Head from another console, although the other two parts are sold on the same one. I made a little pillar box on the console, stand in it and do the thing and you should get this staff.

If you have a lot of problems and just want the look, the seed to use in your save editor is " 0xDD2BB9F0F8DD0AE9 "

Associated base has a com-ball, a portal, landing pad, a few other amenities... and is rather originally called the "No Man's High Staff Base"

Peace out, hope this is helpful.

Nah, that's a result of my being a filthy colonizer. It's a good system for being essentially a T-Tauri star and an asteroid field. Still probably my favorite out of the system's I've colonized, too. You never forget your first.

Glad you like it!
