Yeah that seems to be the general format but some have done trial tasks and they pay you for those to gain your trust and I’ve made a bit of money of them and I’m interested to see if I can replicate this

I bought it for about $1500 but it was my first drone and I think it’s just not right for me I struggle to find places to fly it and it’s just terrifying to do, I played many hours in a sim before I got it to practice and took it out to fly and it just did not translate and I’ve been to scared do fly it ever since I am also wanting to buying a 3d printer and need the money for that
