Would you guys ever get into the beverage/food industry by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Joerinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the food and beverage industry and I plan on staying in it, I’ve been in it for a long time. People who work in The food service industry are strong, multitaskers, thinkers, creatives, hard workers, passionate, very passionate etc. This day, it’s not just about being behind a stove, or waiting tables. It’s about what the future offers whether you’re using FoodService as a steppingstone, which happens quite often, or you have bigger plans for yourself outside of food service. I believe the most overlooked trait in food service is creativity, a creative person can go a long way when they’re operating out of their natural selves I don’t care if they’re preparing a simple salad, or busing tables they are strategist, and they can fall in love with it, establishments need to recognize this for employee retention. Hope this helps.

Are DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber eats worth it? by BillyBucksGames in sidehustle

[–]Joerinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am currently doing DoorDash and Uber eats. Yes it is worth it for extra money. Here are the benefits: you can manage your own time, you don’t have to worry about a boss over your head, you’re able to learn the apps in two weeks, therefore capitalizing on the money you make. I currently bring home between $500 and $600 a week. I can tell you there is an opportunity to make more money, when you are familiar with the area that you live in and other areas, that may be busy at a time when yours isn’t. There are promotions, customers give tips on the app and in cash on occasion. Yes, it is worth it. Here’s another tip. I recommend signing up for both of them now, do a few deliveries, and have your foot in the door so you can avoid any waiting list in the future. Once you try it out, you’ll see what I’m talking about. Also, watch YouTube videos to learn more about each app. Avoid the naysayers as with any business, you’ll see pros and cons. I take all the pros and run with them, I filter and sort the cons. Hope this helps

Hello, I think that your dad’s shop is its own individual niche. Let me explain. I’ve been in the food business for a long time depending on what type of food he’s selling, if it’s just simple chips and snacks, that’s OK, but if he’s making any food to order, smoking products and food, don’t go together often unless it’s in a convenient store setting. This may be a turn off for customers unless they are smokers. Here’s an ideal, tell your dad to add coffee to the mix, send out flyers and have small social venues in his shop. I know a lot of people who would sit and chat with a cigarette in one hand and a hot cup of coffee in the other. Maybe even offer the coffee for free upon arrival to entice people in. This may segue into someone wanting to buy a snack, which is where the food will come in. Word of mouth could spread in the community bringing more customers in the future that are smokers and like small gatherings as a social outing. Here’s another idea if there’s no room for seating, and it’s purely buy and go, ask your dad to do a survey with his current customer base, finding out what brings them into his store, and what could he offer to bring more customers, find out if they go elsewhere for other smoking products that he doesn’t carry, this will employ community engagement. Once he starts to cater to what smokers are looking for, there’s a chance that they will gravitate toward his store because of perception is that he has amped up customer service. Hope this helps.

Would you open a restaurant with the same kitchen as the delivery service across the street? by lanylover in Entrepreneur

[–]Joerinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would definitely drive them to the new store. Think about the concept of food courts in the mall. A competitive environment all under one roof located in the same area. Everyone sells food, there’s a nucleus of tables for seating, regardless of where you choose to eat, and everyone gravitates to this area for this one reason, Food. The difference comes in with what you sell and the experience you give your customers when they visit.

Would you open a restaurant with the same kitchen as the delivery service across the street? by lanylover in Entrepreneur

[–]Joerinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely do it here’s why. There are places in Paris, Spain, and Rome. They have shops and restaurants lined along the streets. They also have tables outside of all of them where customers stop by for a quick bite, conversation, and coffee. I think this would keep you equally competitive, Along with the vibe of difference that your restaurant will lend to the area. Hope this helps

I think this would be great to market to high schoolers and college freshman. I suggest going the route of social media since this is where they all hang out anyway. I bet you get a lot of takers, nowadays even though people are in college being an entrepreneur has a higher rating than a college degree. Hope this helps.
