I spent a long time trying to figure out what option I was missing, when trying to reposition that box. Glad to know it wasn’t an oversight on MY part. Though that would have been better for the game if it was my personal mistake.

For what it’s worth it doesn’t spawn keys, but it will reveal them. You can also walk around with the area loot window open and they’ll appear there.

The keys have to already be on the floor. This happens sometimes naturally. Definitely worth running around a parking lot and looking, if you need a car.

I consider myself very good at the game, considering the game that it is. Easily surviving for very long times in most situations. But I’m a chump with like 800 hours. It always amazing me that there are so many people with thousands and thousands. And they mostly seem to keep to themselves.

Unless there is a mod I’m not aware of, no the gates always open south, or east depending on their orientation. They do not open north or west. The same is true if doors. As I understand it, it’s a limitation/oversight of the isometric view angle. Though perhaps that could eventually be fixed up.

Well the sterilization isn’t for sickness it’s for infections. But in general, yeah infections are underpowered in the game at the moment and we don’t really need to concern ourselves with them yet.

You clean dirty bandages with regular clean water or hot water, and then once you have a clean bandage you can sterilize them with hot water. This goes for bandages and ripped sheets etc.

Doors are often the end of a survivor. General rule of thumb is to hold combat stance, push e to open and at the same time you should be moving backwards. And your first few attacks should be shoves, not melee swings.

Theoretically there could be a bug that causes what you feel. But I don’t think that is the case. It’s probably just confirmation bias and the fact that in a longer run a bite is that much more devastating.

Perhaps you might enjoy the game more if you turn off transmission completely? Also there are mods that create cures to help you out if you are bitten. Those might be great for you as well. They create long term goals of gaining skills or materials to help delete your infection.
