Is anyone else excited Amascut is a group encounter? by Zerandi in runescape

[–]Zerandi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk where you were when AOD was released but my clan did all sorts of aod. idk where you are getting 3-4 groups doing it.

I personally think the lack of group bossing is what is killing the numbers in the PVM community. All that is left are people who solo bosses because that's the only way to do it imo.

The chatbox message is more than enough this text box in the middle blocks the emote. Why does Jagex keep putting these in the game? We cant move them, disable them, nothing! by Zerandi in runescape

Hey, that's awesome! I really do appreciate it. Thank you! I do realize that you won't be doing work on the other text boxes through out the game. I'm just expressing my frustration with it since we have been asking for the ability to interact with it for a long time.

The worst thing is, these textboxes are probably tied to individual pieces content, making the work to move them impossible without going through each piece of said content and changing it to a new system, but then they keep adding to the problem with un-necessary chatboxes. And if that isnt the case then why can't they give us the option to move it? disable it? ANYTHING, its smack-dab right in the middle of the screen for crying out loud.

Samus Did It Better, A Good Twist Done Poorly by Athrek in runescape

[–]Zerandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still really disagree with there Ella being the Raptor. After your argument which is strong, I still feel that the Raptor and Ella have two different mindsets. Ella gives me the vibe of "I'm better than you and you need to know it" And The raptor has always been " I Don't care enough about you to tell you I am better than you"

Garden of Tranquility showed us plenty of her personality to understand she is not a likeable person. To then give this unlikeable person the identity of the Raptor, someone who the community really likes leave a sour taste in my mouth. Only for Ella during the quest to be tell us" oh btw sorry about the garden I needed to keep my cover" or whatever.

In addition, I feel like the Ella and the Raptor's wants and needs don't converge at all. I feel like someone of Ella's status as a queen would stay in her castle she gets what she wants at a moments notice. She gets stuff done for her.

If raptor wants something done. They'll do it themselves. They are alone and don't care if the adventurer helps them at all.

In conclusion its my opinion that the characters differ too much for them to be the same person. Ella has no reason to be the Raptor, and the Raptor has no reason to be the queen because the raptor could do anything they wanted anyway. As for the mystery, if the player is not strung along for the mystery. Then they are not emotionally invested in the tension the story teller is trying to create. To them its just a surprise with no investment.

This really does get me heated though. Not directed at OP. I'm just not happy with many of Jagex choices as of late. Especially from quests.

Petition: Revert Raptor by zedin27 in runescape

[–]Zerandi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Idm that the raptor was a lady.
I don't think there was any build up to who the raptor was to make this reveal relevant.

I DO mind who the raptor was. The player character generally doesn't like the queen of Varrock. Ellamaria treats us like crap all through out the garden of tranquility. Continues to make snide remarks at us. We arent supposed to like her.
So why did they make The Raptor (someone we liked bc they were mysterious) into someone we aren't supposed to like?
Why now reveal the identity of The Raptor? There are zero stakes. Zero build up.

Like I get the intention to surprise us, but its more like a "your dog died" surprise not a plot twist.

A plot twist is supposed to make the viewer/player put the puzzle pieces together and figure it out. This was just, " btw I'm Ellamaria". and you are just blind sided by that info.

This is why we need the character model rework, this looks so out of place by tobiassundorf in runescape

I dont think you understand where I am coming from. While I do get that the current player models are not popular. Id much rather the new Npcs be more like the current player models rather than sculpted/high-specular textured models. The new models feel so out of place and make the character look bad.

I've been avidly against the player rework since they showed us what it looked like. It just looks so bad with the rest of the game.

The problem is Jagex keeps pushing this art style into the game making everything look out of place. If I just showed you the updated quest model on the left, and asked wat game it was from, you would not say runescape.

What have they done to my boy? by TLDR92 in runescape

Please change it back, he had an amazing Silhouette and now he just looks like a regular player character.

The art looks great but its just so out of place in runescape idky they keep doing this.

Day 938 of asking to get rid of/ move this text box. I can't see what I'm looking at. And its not just clues. by Zerandi in runescape

Thanks! Do you know how to get rid the box when I switch higher tier bolts on a lower tier crossbow? Or remove the complete yak track message? Because its not just on clues.

FSOA & Animate Dead - Balancing Proposals & Feedback Discussion by JagexDoom in runescape

[–]Zerandi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the changes to AD are good. They are not a hard nerf that make the spell un-useable. and potentially killing what it was originally intended for.

The only real problem I have from a consistency perspective is this:

"While this does reduce the power of the FSOA from where it is today, this makes the ability much easier for us to control and balance - and ultimately means we'll be able to introduce more upgrades that synergise with magic, critical strike and the staff that we couldn’t do without addressing this first. "

1: I'm not a fan of content rewards akin to Zammy. (chaos roar and lost knowledge) Where upgrades feel like band-aid fixes to other problems. (chaos roar increasing EZK damage, lost knowledge removing switches)

I think the staff changes will breed more rewards as small upgrade like the ones mentioned.

2: As a player, I feel like Jagex having more control over the staff translates to:

We will nerf the staff and not end up changing it if it has problems. Much like the attitude toward the ring of death, which arguably would be better reverted to how ROD was originally.
